Re: how namaazi is he/she?
So a question for the guys, say if you read namaaz now and again, does it mean you're non-religious as opposed to a guy who regularly reads namaaz? I know guys are a bit slack when it comes to prayers so even if he doesn't read regularly it doesn't necessarily mean he's the devil. But is there room for improvement or change if he reads occasionally? Or should one be quite strict in ones requirements and not compromise on the namaaz factor?
Alhamdulillah, when my marriage was being arranged, the question never came up, because it was understood that we both made 5 times salaat regularly, otherwise neither of us would have even considered the other.
As has been mentioned before, making 5 times daily salaat doesn't in and of itself make someone religious. It's just a basic thing that you can't do without. So in terms of what I'd be looking for (not so much for me anymore, but when my future kids' turns come) is someone who makes salaat 5 times a day, no compromises on that.
The place where there could be room for improvement would be someone who is trying to improve the quality of their salaat, such as concentration, devotion, nafl salaats etc.
