Re: How long should one stay in the same job?
Ali, its the ultimate truth , that cant be denied. The average salary range in the market changes every two years. So supposing someone is working in a firm earning £2000 a month .. while the market set salary range is now £3K a month ... if you go ask for a raise, your company will put you through tonns of evaluation and performance measurement etc etc , they will check the progression charts that HR drew with you when you first started , they will see how much they have invested in your trainings , costs etc etc .. and finally they will come and say, ok we will give you £200 raise, nothing more !
but the minute they decide to hire a new person they will be happy to pay £3k to them per month !!!! just psychology really + they get to reevaluate the talent levels of the company employees !
