I am very fair, and i love being the colour that i am, however hubby is totally opposite to me, and I chose him , as for kids i don’t expect them to be as fair as me, a little wheatish perhaps, but would not want them to dark as hubby if i can choose a hubby thats many shades darker than me, in fact he’s totally on the other side of the spectrum from me, im sure i will love our kids whatever colour they are.
also i find darker shaded men much more attractive.
Nope not really an issue. I just want an even tone skin. BUT I would love to have fairer feet !!! The only problem with darker skin tones is that they are more prone to pigmentation. Shoes bites, scars , mosquito bites etc etc all leave dark spots behind that takes ages to go !!
I have gone from dark kid (???) to fair teenager to dark adult ( suffer from a really bad case of hyper pigmentation now :(( ).
Apart from a friend who along with her mother were obsessed about fair complexion, never really even though about skin color that much.
My mom was dark , father fairer. Same case with us kids. Brother was fairer than us sisters. But never once did I ever hear anything about it growing up from anyone.
I wonder why skin lightening products are so popular amongst asians even though so many people say skin color doesn't matter. Anyways, I embrace my skin color!!But I do take care of my skin and try not tan which obviously is not great for your skin. And I genuinely believe that people can be attractive in any skin tone and color!
Skin with "kashish" or glow is what matters to me.....you see dark people with "kashish" as well as fair people with "kashish"......
Kashish is what makes you stand out and not your skin color.

I've heard girls saying that they don't care about this fairness-craze etc. But when I've been at their places and taken a look at their makeup(skin care products I've spotted those Fair and Lovely creams
saying i like darker men, fairer men look gay/wimpy etc is not all that different from a guy saying i like fairer girls, darker women look dirty blah blah.
saying oh i don't care about skin color, and then mentioning your and your mom's uber-fair-for-desi specific mac shades - fail.
I have a medium skin tone and i have never used skin lightening products. I think Freida Pinto's skin tone is so attractive! Karishma Kapoor, on the contrary, looks like a ghost without her bronzer. Not attractive at all.
i am just so disgusted at people back home who think light skin = beautiful, even if it is not healthy and glowing.
