I am a forgiving person....depending on the nature of the matter I can either forgive right away or it may take me some time....however just because I forgive the person doesnt mean that the relationship will remain the same...the dynamics of the relationship may or may not change depending on the severity of the matter as well. Once I forgive you though...i wont hold a grudge.
Depends on what the person has done, in most of the cases… I do forgive and move on with the stream of life, but at the same I don’t give the person any respect anymore, and I put them on my ignore list like they never exist to me … these kind of jerks will never get any respect from me ever no matter how close those might be ever to me …
forgiving has stages.
forgiving is step wise.
it is not a one fits all cover.
it depends on the harm or wrong caused.
also, it very much depends on how much the person who wronged or harmed, is accepting his /her delibrate mistake.
thus, forgiving is never going to happen alone on the part of the one who is hurt and wronged.
between people, those who wrong others and never feel any sense of responsibility are better left unforgiven.
recognition of own mistake is precedent at the time of apology which is genuinely offered. there is better grace in this in obtaining respect in the heart of the hurt or wronged person, than remaining silent and not doing justice to both the mistake and ownself as a realizing wrong doer who now is able to see what he/she did.
of course we all know that in case of creature - Maker relationship, forgiving is not impossible. Allah swt forgives when offered a prayer of repentence and mercy.
