How do you spend your day? Literally?

i just drive too fast.. :snooty:

^^ I'd race u anyday baba g, hope u dun drive like a baba...:D

I'd like to ask if any of you see schedules on here that you find you would like to have? Or do all of them seem pretty unappealing to you?

The thing is, I notice all the time that people say "Gosh, I'd love to be a stay at home mom" or "I'd love to work and not have to take care of the kids all day"....etc. However, from what I am seeing here, neither side seems to be very happy with their schedules. Very content.

Do you feel hopeless that youre bound to such boring routines or do you feel you can actually make a departure from them by adding or taking away?

This is not to say that you find your entire schedule a bore or a pain, but rather, you would like to do quite a few things differently if you could. Thanks.

I also wanted to add that I saw a documentary called "Born Rich". It was about some of the richest adolescents in America, including Donald Trumps daughter, an heir to Johnson and Johnson fortune, etc. What I found was that these adolescents although they didnt need to have schedules like working full-time, or taking care of their children all day, they still made schedules for themselves. Reason I bring this up is because I often hear, "if I had so much money I wouldnt do a thing". But I wonder how true that really is.

We humans can’t be happy for what we have :o

when i had a job i wanted to stay at home , now i am at home taking care of kids and i think i have No life :bummer:

Interestingly enough none of you prayerful people mentioned anything about praying in your schedules...how come?

^^ There is a hadith which says, that work is like a prayer, da harder u work, da closer u r 2 God.

Prayer takes only a couple of minutes, & da harder u try 2 make it a routine, da harder it becomes 2 pray.

What about weekends?

Anyway, my typical day (8hrs sleep on average)

6am - Wake up, 1hr getting ready, shower, shave, breakfast etc
7.10am leave for work.
7.30am Start work, in between trying to squeeze a bit of reading online (islamic stuff or related)

12pm - Lunch - Have something to eat, pray, Read a book

1-4pm finish off the day

4.30pm home. Get changed, check normal mail etc, fit in any prayer if due. (try doing some weight training if its a weight training day, few times a week)

5-5.30 On the PC, check email
5.30 - watch a little tv and news
6pm sit on the sofa and have a little wind down
6-7pm usually dinner time and all related chores.
7pm - 8pm chores around house as well as make or receive phone calls
8pm - 10pm Check emails again, browse web. Talk on MSN to friends ( if around) work on website, do some business work
10pm-10.30 pray, do some more reading if poss, then make preparations to wind down. Do any other personal errands. pay bills etc etc

11pm BED.

DOGS Life i tell u

How u supposed to do something for the ummah with a routine like that?
U know, give da'wah or something or another. its so difficult.
Am always so drained after work as well, jst wanna go to sleep.
Weekends are even worse. Feel so sleepy all day

Here's mine:

5:30 - get up.
6:15 - breakfast
6:30 - leave for work
7:00 - get to work
5:00 - leave work
5:30 - get home
6:00 - have dinner with family
7:00 - 1:00 - spend time with wife (go out sometimes, watch tv etc.)
1:00 - check e-mails / a little bit of remote management
1:30 - go to bed

Weekends are always good since I spend half a day sleeping...i love to sleep. The other half we usually go out to friends/families or other places. Once every 2 weeks we clean the house.

7:00 am ... wake up
7:15 am ... cook break fast
7:45 am ... see hubby off to work
8:00 am ... back on bed for a short snooze before work
9:00 am ... wake up again
9:15 am ... get ready for work
9:30 am ... off to work
10:00 am.. reack my office
5:30 pm ... get off from work
6:15 pm ... back home
6:30 pm ... watch tv & wait for hubby
6:30 pm - 8:00 pm .. go out if required.
8:00 pm ... press my clothes n hubby's for the next day
9:30 pm ... eat supper
9:45 - 11:30 ... watch tv
12:00 - 12:30 .... sleep

sigh

^^i think aleezays schedule sounds the most appealing to me.
I'll swap you Aleezay.

Nobody is saying what they would like to do differently. Please share. Thanks.

My schedule has drastically changed. I was told I can work from home as a part-timer, because I cannot be afforded as a full-time sales associate. Ah well. I love working from home, so I hope to find another part-time work from home stint. I feel better just knowing I will have more time at home to do things, eventhough there is higher pressure to make sales and find another similar job.

I think there are things everyone here can do, to make their days go by a little more happier than before. The question is, what are you willing to do to make that positive change?

I have no major problems with my routine probably because it's not same everyday. I do different things at different times each day. If there was anything I'd like to be changed from my schedule then I'd like to go out for a walk or picnic with my family/close friends once a week. Though I don't think that's possible because when I'm free most others are busy or can't get out of the house because of some reason. sigh

wake up at 8 (i know :D)
go to college,
listen to boring lectures
pray zuhr
have arguments and debates with friends at break
go out for lunch, pizza/McDonalds etcetc
come home
asr
relax for a couple of hours
if i have a good book probably read it
play a few computer games/call friends
maghrib
somethings bound to come up in this timeslot, always somtehing different
have dinner with the family
