I agree with you. Let us not lose hope. I’m working with NGOs here in the US, especially Human Rights Watch. Here is an email I got from someone on defense blog. He is a real Pakistani, living in Pakistan highlighting Mushrrasf successes over last 8 years.
hey buddy iv been reading stuff on these forums since like the last 5 years now but never posted except mayb once!!!i just read it for the defense matters when the musharraf worship was on a lower ebb!!!but over the years as it now clearly shows, no matter what musharraf does or says most of the guys here are crazy fans of his…they almost worship HIM and the fact that they are justifying his declaration of martial is just so mind boggling that im still caught in disbelief man!!! i mean i was reading the thred abt emergency nd im asking myself why do i even bother cuming on these forums…but then i saw a few voices of dissent in this discussion of the blind sheep…i saw u, and few other people oppose this hideous measure of the govt…i dont hav the patience or time to argue with these guys here abt how bad musharraf has been for this country, iv spent all my life in pakistan wit the exception of the last year and im assuming that most or a substantial number of the people on these forums are living abroad…so i knw firsthand as a curious citizen as to which measures of his hav been successful and wich hav been not…i believe that amongst all the dictators musharraf is the worst after ZIA… his economic policies are a half cooked success, purchasing power is falling fast so is standard of living thugs wander in the big cities esp karachi looting and killing people at will…IN EIGHT YEARS OF ABSOLUTE POWERS AND A LOYAL COTERIE OF CORRUPT MINISTERS FROM PREVIOUS REGIMES MUSHARRAF HAS NOT EVEN SOLVED A SINGLE OF PAKISTAN’S PROBLEMS AND HAS SIMPLY MADE THEM WORSE…HE HAS FAILED TO GIVE HIS NATION ECONOMIC OR SOCIAL SECURITY…THIS IS COMING FROM A PERSON OF A RURAL BACKGROUND AND URBAN RESIDENCE IM SIMPLY STATING WITHOUT BIAS WHAT LIFE IV EXPERIENCED IN PAKISTAN AND HOW THE COMMON MAN SEES IT!!!THE ICONS OF MUSHARRAF’S RULE ARE

WHEN MY FAMILY GOES OUT TO BUY MONTHLY RATIONS THEY DONT CARE HOW MANY CARS MOTORCYCLES FOREIGN EXCHANGE OR TRADES ARE MADE IN A MONTH THEY LIKE ALL LOWER AND LOWER MIDDLE CLASS FAMILIES OF PAKISTAN SIMPLY WORRY IF THEY WILL BE ABLE TO PAY FOR THE ARTIFICIALLY RAISED OR INEFFICIENTLY CONTROLLED PRICES…PROBABLY THAT IS WHY SUICIDE RATE IS HIGHEST IN PAKISTAN’S HISTORY!!!
