Sadia: Getting all your :friends together for dinner & tell them in person is a good idea. That’s what I would do if I were in your shoes.

BTW, I would also recommend not waiting until everything is final. That might come as more of a shock & some of your friends might be hurt/offended that they didn’t have any clue this was coming. I would strongly suggest you let them know this is coming (ie. let them know in person that there’s a guy you’ve been talking to, your family approves of, and there is a strong possibility an engagement may be announced soon). This way the initial shock/questions will be over. Your friends will have some time to get used to the idea so when you actually announce the official engagement…hopefully it’ll be full of happiness instead of being interrogated.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. I don’t want it to be such a shocker. So how much in advance should I tell them?
