Mystical mis, no one says that Islam is spread thru killings. Here we are talking if force was used for conversion.
Ajjubhai, it is your privilege to boycott this forum, or do not call it a debate if you are happy with one-sided praiseworthy thoughts.
Any kind of pressure, promised, or allurement all comes under force for conversion. For this reason I ask a valid question, why mass conversions do not take place any more.
Muslim rulers went thru a destruction work for personal achievements or for Islam? This is not the issue.
They used the name of Islam during all around conquers and atrocities. And all this is force or not?
I am not interested in finding the excuses. The question is, if force was used or not?
And dear Ajju, your posts are very informative, thanks. You have diverted the issue towards justice under Islam. Sorry, there are many Islamic States all around, can you give some example.
Islam actually entered India in 7th - 8th century via South with arab traders and first Mosque was built in 9th century in Kerala. It was not thru force or killings.
Later Muslim rulers from north attacked India, 12th century and force for conversion was implemented for coming centuries.
In Britain, the English King of Offa was the first to mint the Gold Coins. On each coin he had it printed 'There Is No God But Allah' in Arabic. This was durng his rule from 759-796 AD. And centuries before the Muslims and Christians were at war with one another.

Brother/Sister, ‘Stupid Idiot’ (I don’t know why a good person like you has an often offencive remark as your name but it’s your choice!) and ‘Inuit’, please visit these sites for the photos of the Islamic coins minted in Britain over 12 centuries ago… and they are kept in museum.
I couldn’t find the site where I first learnt it from but these sites out of a long list have more information on the coins and their history.
Also Islam was in the Americas long before Columbus ever got there… there’s a book called ‘They Came Before Columbus’… I’ll try to find that site (or you just type that book title in the address bar).
(Moderaters, please don’t ban me from this site. I’m not trying to advertise websites but only giving referrences to the post I typed above).
During the time of the guru, India was gripped with forced conversion to Islam by the Moguls. There was discrimination and gross human rights violation against Hindus. The indigenous population was too frightened to stand up to the Mogul barbarism.
The guru fought the Moguls. Tow of his four sons, aged 17 and 15, died on the battlefield. The other two, aged 5 and 7, were later killed because of their association with their father. Both were given a choice, embrace Islam or die and like their father, they stood-up against forced conversion and chose to be bricked alive, and then beheaded.

BBC (Propaganda) is not a reliable source.
But what was the time of the Guru anyway? (Wasn't that a few centuries after Islam was already in place in India?)

What do you mean "Islam was already in place". Muslims were still a minority when Guru Gobind was born. And Aurangzeb Did destroy temples and did force people to accept Islam. He did bury teen aged kids of Guru in the brick wall cos they would not accept Islam. You can not argue, the fact remains. Only Akbar was a decent ruler, but then, Muslims don't consider him a good Muslim. You can not glorfy Islam with poor justifications.
