Re: How cautios are you about what you eat?
^ Something similar happened recently around here. There was a distributor selling meat labeled as “certified halal”. A local muftis looked into it and it turned out to be very not-halal ![]()

How cautios are you about what you eat?
Can you guys list some if the brands being discussed which are or aren't? For general info so we could either avoid or do our own research. Like the example you guys gave MM ^

I would be comfortable buying meats that are HMA certified. I know they're certifying in Canada, but not sure about anywhere else.
Among the brands I avoid:
Maple Lodge Farms
Anything coming from South America, New Zealand, Australia
The brands I trust:
Mina
Crescent
The only certification body I trust "blindly" is HMA. I wouldn't go with any other certification without further investigation.

Crescent chicken can now be found at most Walmarts in my city ![]()
Re: How cautios are you about what you eat?
Madimar's poultry are hand slaughtered!
How cautios are you about what you eat?
Oh wow, I'm going to look out for crescent now!

As for these guys that I trust, here are their websites:
Crescent: Crescent Premium Food Inc. - Home . (Crescent - the most trusted name in HALAL products.)
Mina Halal: http://minahalal.com
and as for HMA, sometimes people will claim to be certified by them while they’re really not, so I would always check it up with them: Facebook
