Hospital Packing List

Re: Hospital Packing List

Don’t forget the socks. Hospitals are cold :frowning:

Re: Hospital Packing List

Noticed the same change here. They only took the baby to be weighed at night. Otherwise he was always in the room. But I always had someone with me – will someone be able to stay with you, especially in case if a csection?

Re: Hospital Packing List

That’s the problem. Hubby is supposed to stay with me…but if we dont get a private suite than he might not be able to stay. Private rooms are on a 1st come 1st serve basis…argh hoping it is not busy when I go.

Re: Hospital Packing List

Got done with a second c a couple of weeks ago, definitely pack pillows and 3rd day onwards my doc recommended using a cold or hot pack, I used it cold and omg its the best thing ever, numbed the incision area and helped so much with moving around.

Re: Hospital Packing List

They had my baby in the nursery all night and only brought him to me for feedings. This was in february

Re: Hospital Packing List

my baby was only taken out for his shot, he was with me the rest of the time. i was surprised though, some people told me they keep babies separate the first night in some room.
i was provided with most of the stuff i needed though, didn’t need much. although i do remember the day i was going to be discharged, the nurse said if i was out of sanitary pads, i should use one of the babies diapers

Re: Hospital Packing List

^ omg!

Re: Hospital Packing List

Wendy you were lucky…thats how it was 1st time around for me. I just am not sure what to really expect. I do know that the 1st night I want to rest and it sure isnt easy getting up post csection. That and I pray for a private suite…so hubby can stay with me. Otherwise if it is a shared room then I think no one can stay…that will really stink.

Today I am off to buy toys that the baby will be giving her siblings upon arrival and last few knick knacks.
I got all onesies in 0-3 month size…the kimono stule for the 1st few weeks…but forgot to get long sleeve regular ones as well as a cute soft blanket to bring her home in.

Tomorrow I am going to Buy Buy Baby to finaoize the car seat…just want to pick out a compatible stroller that I know suits the car seat. I have lots of good reviews on the Joovy Caboose Ultralight…so expensive though…but I want to test drive it…
If it feels good then I can get a somewhat used one on ebay

2nd choice is the Graco stand and ride something…I need a sit and syand one. I went to babies r us and target and they had limited stuff. Plus I fou d out that the Buy Buy Baby in Paramus accepts Bed Bath &Beyond coupons…so 20% off would be great!

Re: Hospital Packing List

^ I found carseats on Amazon.com much cheaper than at Buybuybaby, even with the coupons.

Re: Hospital Packing List

We got the graco seat and stroller travel system.

New receiving blanket is a must for all those first time photies!!

What is a kimono strule? Googling now.

Re: Hospital Packing List

cat I misspelled that. I meant “kimono style” onesie. Basically it buttons on the side so you don’t have to slip it over babies head…esp useful for first week or 2 where the umbilical cord is healing. Re: Hospital Packing List

S02 - Do you mind sharing which one you got? I am getting either Graco Snugride Connect 35 or the Chicco Keyfit 30, both have good reviews overall. I need to touch and feel and weigh them both to get a better idea. Plus maybe have salesperson take it out to my car to see if it fits. The stroller I am hoping to find online, but need to physically test drive it and some of the local stores don’t have the one I am looking for. I heard Buy Buy Baby has a huge variety. I have been looking at ebay, need to check out amazon as well. My only issue with online for carseat is, I am not sure how difficult it is to return, say once baby is here and baby doesn’t like it. Babies r US or others I can easily take it and refund for another if need be. Maybe I am going cooky.

Mai tainu chund mara?

You’ve done this twice before!! :smack:

Re: Hospital Packing List

We have Chicco Keyfit. It’s great! Love it!!

Re: Hospital Packing List

We have the Chicco Keyfit 30 for infants. And the Britax Boulevard 70 for the older one.

Re: Hospital Packing List

That was 7 years ago for Shayaan. Most stuff I never got chance to buy myself…was just given gifts of everything…includingncrib…stroller…carseat…etc…
And Umaiza just used the same stuff. We got rid of almost everything after Umaiza…

So now shopping…but stupidly waited till the end. So many available now!! It’s a little confusing…hehe.

Now there are all these super trendy strollers…but some are even very practical due to lughtweight…but pricetag hurts.

Sigh.

Oh yeah when I suddenly went into labor with umaiza…didnt have any bag packed…just scrambled and got few things to take with us…
Plus I need to know absolute necessary…cuz online…they say take the whe house with you…sigh
