I get "sardee garmee" and shiver as though I'm freezing next to hot food and shout to my wife saying "Aaah Sardee Garmee ho rahee hai"
Also ... not anymore but when I was younger I used to eat half a roti and fold the rest of it up and hide it in a corner, under the TV set, under the bed, etc ... My mum used to give me shabash for eating all of my roti ... but later found the roti halves hidden in the nooks and cranies baffled about how the roti got there and then she worked it out and told my dad.
Later I developed this urge to eat my roti's around the edges first and leave the centre for the end ... I used to eat all my boti and salan but leave the biggest boti for the end bit with the centre piece of roti ... that was quite satisfying.
At uni a friend of mine used to eat donner kebab without getting his hands dirty ... yep ... you got it, he used to put his face in it like a dog.

That's not a bad habit I think...just...a weird habit :p
I remember when I was a kid, whenever my mom made spinach with rice, I would fill up my bowl and i don't know hwo to describe it but I would smooth it out on the top...so it would be like a block so to speak. and then dig in. gosh i haven't done that in yearsssssss
I wouldn't call it horrible, but my family used to think it was weird.I put salan on top of rice in my plate, instead of on the side, and mix it all up before I start eating it.I enjoy it that way...:D
My mom used to tell me that kids eat that way.I don't do it at anyone's home though.
The horrible habit is just putting whatever my toddler leaves in my own mouth at the end of meal time, especially if it is a bite or two.you know they start packing up ....:(

Sounds like you were putting icing on a cake ... LOL
I guess each bite had a fair share of palak on it ... :D
Yeah ... when I was young I used to eat slurp my cereal and "chap chap" my roti burkees ... but was told that it was bad.
i have one too , that i just remembered after hubby pointed it out :(
I cant eat soup / sorba walai dishes without getting my fingers all messed up .. I have tried and tried to practice and keep it a clean business ... but I always end up getting my fingers dipped into the salan and then there's like a whole load of tissue blob that I clean my fingers on after every lukma ... too much mess ... so now i keep a spoon .. dip the lukma in the sorba and then put it on the spoon and its good to go :)
