is there a connection between a woman's period and the level of sexual excitement? doesn't the sexual tension rise for the girl during her period?

PMS is partly related to changes in the brain hormone level. The hormone in particular is called serotonin (spelling??) I believe. Serotonin levels are responsible for keeping a "stable" mood so to speak. As you stated, not all women are affected by PMS though. There are ways in which to help through the PMS period. Excercising regularely helps because it increases your serotonin level. Also, eating a balanced healthy diet can help as well. Avoid excess salt and caffeine which can make irritability much worse.
acha.... now i get it.. cus i do a lot walking.. maybe thats the reason.. like i know i do get cranky at home with my fam.. but its not to an extent where im scary...
ok so what about body weight and size? does that have any kind of relevance?
Correct me if i’m wrong but last I was studying about this seratonin was a sleep enhancing hormone when the body is given a signal to sleep and am pretty sure about this but hey a hormone can have two functions.
I would think it would have to do more with the estrogen level that fluctuates along with the testoserone level in women which makes them aggressive and cranky. Ofcourse it differs from one to another. As far as balanced diet goes, one should try more sugarey items and less salty because thats bad for the PMS cycle as it makes bleeding excessive. The more fruits and vegetables eaten that produce blood i.e. onions, tomato, carrots etc. the better. Lets not forget a lot of water is needed during this cycle. So 8 glasses of water not in one shot but through out the day, make sure your other liquids are counted too since it can have an adverse effect on your kidneys.
Last but not least, avoid pain killers at all cost unless absolutely needed just for the sake of addiction.
Way to go Fret :k: and I thought we didn’t have any people who stayed awake in sex ed. class.
edit: the relevance of gaining weight for women during PMS is because they’re body thinks its pregnant, so its natures way of taking caution.
Serotonin imbalances are actually a result from the effects of fluctuating hormone levels, as you stated estrogen in this case. Serotonin imbalances are linked to depression, appetite changes and sleep disturbances, and women with PMS do seem to have low levels of serotonin about ten days before a menstrual period. Also, human mood disorder (depression) is cured by medication which increases the serotonin level.
Oneo of the few classes I stayed awake for in HS :rotato:
