when half of all Sikh guys are either clean-shaven or trim their beard

Yeah what's with that? They have thin line of beard (bum fluff more like)and bandana, I had a friend and he would always wear his turban and not do anything to his head hair but change his beard style more often than he did his kaacha. I think it's more of a fashion thingy now than religion, just like Hijaab or Khanda is for some people, only the uncles have proper beards which they keep in their net thing the youth are bas aevein hi..
i know tons of Sikh girls and not one of them keeps body hair. when half of all Sikh guys are either clean-shaven or trim their beard, do you really think the women would be strict adherents? i don't think so.

You don't know any Sikh girls who keep their hair? Well it's not uncommon to see if you live in a place where there are lots of Sikhs. You've obviously never been to Surrey BC.
In fact I see a lot of giannis who wear their daggers on the outside of there clothing.

well, i'm referring specifically to the most obvious indicator - hair on the legs. i have yet to meet a Sikh woman who doesn't shave or wax her legs. perhaps some aunties, but then again, i wouldn't know.
^You are right, I dont think the majority do that. All though i know some girls who don't beleive in removing any hair, I dont think its so comman anymore in Western countries.

it's interesting how they said "Sikh father" in the title - identifying the religion. i guess to make it newsworthy, they had to emphasize that the perpetrator was a non-muslim, otherwise it would not be surprising at all.

Was about to post something before I realised you were all crazy ****s.
Well thank God for once a non Muslim killed their daughter in the name of honor killing and they brought it out in the media.
i mean seems like everything negative these day is always portrayed towards Muslims like a terrorist attack or honor killing;the word "terrorist" has become a label for young muslim men; the media has made it such a point to make muslims look like crazy lunatics.
It depends, I know Muslims that drink. So what stops a sikh from shaving or not. Just because a religion says to do something doesn't mean people will follow it line by line. It's called free will, experimentation, trials, etc. I know many sikhs that are ultra modern. I also know a few muslims that don't shave (if you know what I mean).
Um, that’s not sati, that’s jauhar, it’s different. Sati was when, after the husband’s death, the wife (or wives, since usually the women who did this were royalty or wealthy upper-castes) would immolate themselves on their husband’s funeral pyre.
Jauhar is what they call it when women (again, usually noble) would burn themselves alive rather than submit to a conquering army (which sometimes was Muslim, but sometimes was not! Go read your Rajasthani history! )
