It's not just boarding schools, but schools in general. Unfortunately, I've witnessed an extreme case where a friend was raped by seniors and severe interventions had to be undertaken to help him overcome the trauma. At a lot of schools, it's part of the hazing ritual... and newbies are told to "give in" and have it the easy way... or risk experiencing it the hard way.
In the end, it's all about frustrations in the name of piety. Behind all that piety, you have homosexuality, addiction to pornography, and/or contracting prostitution.

There's a girl at my office who went to a ladies boarding school in Pakistan, who said she was bullied by the other girls there because she wouldn't take part in the hanky-panky with each other that the others girls got up to .

Absolute rubbish.
I spent 5 years in Cadet College Hasanabdal and never witnessed anything close. To say that its common in Cadet College Hasanabdal is BS. Yes, there was alot of lighthearted fun poked at the 'pretty boys' or so called pappoos but 99.9 percent of the time, it was very innocent and in good fun, nothing more. You're talking about 15 16 17 year old kids... they are just kids... they will crack jokes, they will laugh, they'll even grab their best mate's arse when they hug each other after the summer break and they are waiting for the dinner hall doors to be opened and say 'darling, I missed you so much!' ... this is all in good fun and yes, they might crack gay jokes and have a laugh... they arent gays. Homosexuality is NOT common in Cadet College Hasanabdal and I'm sure its not common in the rest of the boarding schools. Hormones yes, but if you're telling me kids are getting upto homosexual activities, I dont think so.
This guys getting BJ's from another guy must be a very extreme example and he should count himself very very lucky to have survived there.
We had a senior who woke a junior up once and apparently asked for some sexual favors. The kid reported him and needless to day, was booted straight out. And we heard the stories of his dad hitting and kicking him from the principal's office all the way to the carpark.
You'd hear a rumour every 2/3 years about something fishy happening somewhere and thats about it. So to say that homosexuality is common in these college is absolute rubbish. Infact, I'm shocked to hear these other boarding school stories. No one ever bullied me and I dont know anyone who bullied anyone else to get into 'hanky panky'.
If I have a son, I'll try my best to send him to Cadet College Hasanabdal. I know of people where multiple generations have gone to that College. Says alot.

i have been in a boarding school as and it ISNT as prevalent or "common" as the original poster makes it seem like. one or two incident, once in a while doesnt make it a norm.

Some of the old friends from Pakistan were from Abottabad Public school and 2 openly admitted that they experimented that .. none of them turned gays and everyone is happily married with kids now.

Standard. Its an international boarding school phenom though, read "Goodbye to All that".
But far worse than being sexually curious is being emotionally scarred and forever incapable of conducting meaningful adult relationships... a common affliction of Ex-Boarding-Brats.
