but to even believe that this is widespread, is an absurdity.
in India too, we have poor families who will leave their young boys(10 years or so), for domestic help. infact mom too had a young kid as a domestic help, after several years he left us and joined the railways.
we all had got very attached to him, and he still visits us sometimes with his wife and child.

Well if a child is being kept at home for domestic live in help, then it's not entirely unfeasible that sexual abuse happens and that the child just keeps their mouth shut about it.
Everything is feasible when it come to pedophilia. A pedophile doesn't necessarily need a child servant to find his/her victim. That child could easily be that pedophile's own biological child, another family member's child, neighbor etc. And in all those cases, an adult in charge could get a child to keep their mouth shut through intimidation, fear, bribe etc.
