not necessarily… i’ve known women who’ve had very safe homebirths with no fuss, and women who’ve had very traumatic hospital births.
of course you need a midwife when having the baby at home, but given that they give you personal care throughout the nine months and then support you during your birth too, i think i want to have a midwife anyway 
be informed and learn as much as you can about your options, choices, and rights, in both situations- home and hospital deliveries.
