theres pro's and con's for each, mama. i think it all comes down to personal preference... the girl i know who had homebirths for both her kids did so because she was super religious and didn't want all the attention/all those male doctors around. a good alternative to a homebirth that i've read about is the birthing centre. they're usually attached to hospitals and have medical staff but the atmostphere is supposedly more calm and less clinical. i guess im a couple of years from making this decision but i'm definitely going to read up more on both before i decide!
For your first baby, I'd suggest you should go for a hospital birth rather than a homebirth, if it goes well than you can consider homebirth for next time.
I have two children, both born in the hospital, I recieved full care and attention of the hospital staff with my first baby but with the second one it wasn't very comfy and hospital was busy and thats why the staff didn't bothermuch about me as it was a normal birth.
Both births were completely normal and spontaneous alhamdulilah, that is why for my third baby I'm considering this option, it'll be more relaxed at home inshaAllah and I won't have to leave my children with anyone.
Nope never its way to messy I cannot stand the smell of blood and everything.And your house will be in a great mess. After you become a mother you need to relax and with all this stuff its going to be tough.
No, I don't think the house'd be in great mess, you don't need much space to give birth(lol).....just a cosy corner of your bedroom with old towels and sheets, and for the blood and the mess you can get those special disposable sheets, and I have en-suit shower as well as a bathroom.....so I hope everything goes well inshaAllah.
