Depending upon your Budget, in April I would recommend Egypt or Cyprus, as I can see them on ur list.
If you are going to Egypt then go to Luxor its much better place than Hurgada. Dont make a mistake hiring a car in Egypt.
If you go to Cyprus then Limasol is better city for staying but as a tourist pick any sea side it doesn't matter. You can hire a car & cover the whole island in one day. I hired a car for two days & didn't leave any corner of Greek Cyprus. Just stay away from the border areas but again Lefkosia itself is on the border but dont miss visiting the Capital. Apart from that Cyprus is good.
Greece I wouldn't advise you to go ... unless u are going to Rhodes. Yes Ahtens is polluted, but if u are interested in Greek archeology and history and its wort visiting. Its been ages since I went to Athens so I cant say whats been happening in last 9 years.
If you are planning Rome then a weekend or 3 days trip is good, dont waste two weeks in Rome though its very nice plac to visit. If you want two weeks trip then go to Nipoli and cover as much southern italy as possible in Two weeks. Nipoli is great place ... particularly the night view of the city is great.
I didn't find anything special in Tunis, apart from lying on the beach all day or visiting some museums. Instead Morocco is better, I visited Agadir and its not a bad place.
Spain, u are right, not a point to go in current days, life is better than anything else.
Wales, unless u are interested in a lot of sheep ... no point going to wales. Nothing in Wales at all. If you would be a single boy I would say welsh girls are easy to pick but that is not applicable in ur case. If interested in UK then in May or June its worth visiting Highlands (Scotland).
Moscow, only if u know someone who can speak Russian or u are going with a group, or if u have enough money to travel in Taxis only and keep away from certain areas.
Prague is a cheap destination while living in Vienna, I presume you might have been to Prague already if not then a weekend trip is worth. I have been to Prague several times (8 or 9 or even more).
I assume ur husband & you haven't been to Paris, check if u want to speand a weekend or 3 nights trip in Paris. That wouldn't be a bad idea.
How about Croatia? I have been to couple of places in Croatia .... but being desi couple you might not like that place, but its worth going and its really cheap. I actually drove there.
Technically I have covered 95% of Europe by driving, but unless you have courage to take the plunge avoid driving in Ex-Communist states, excluding CZ, SK, HU and SL.
Ya any plans of Portugal??? I've been to Southern Portugal & spend three days in Lisbon, its really nice. Consider it as a prospective holiday destination as well.
Thanks Najim, you gave some good suggestions and insider information, thats something you won't normally get when you look at the holiday offers, all places look the same in the pictures. I do think the best is to discover the place on your own, rather than to follow a bunch of people around, right!
I have to admit, I haven't really visited all of Europe so far, only some of the neighboring countries.
My buget is limited right now, but it should be enough also :) As about going to holidays, it will be somewhere at the end of june, so thats why I have to avoid all the so hot places. I think a city tour might be a better idea, again, I'm undecided, well I think I will decide a week or two before the time, so I will relay on my feelings, all the places you said are tempting, I cannot go to all of them at the same time :( so will just pick one when the time is there and then take it step by step.
Prague, I have allways wanted to go to prague and its not even so far away from us, I think a 3 days weekend will be enough.
Croatia, my sister, brother in law and my brother went to croatia last year on a long weekend trip by car, but being a desi i didnt go, lol. j/k I had to work on that weekend.
Now I think I said too my much, my husband thinks that I talk a lot, meaning I cannot keep things in my stomach (pheet mai kuch nahi reehta) and so right he is lol, if he reads this he will get the confirmation, but what can I do, I need the kick.
Why don't you go to Turkey? It's really very cheap nowadays, even by air. Food is cheap, weather is great, people are nice and friendly. And it's really very beautifull! (I don't know where you live, if you live in Turkey, just forget what i've said lol!)
Miss Alisha, the reason, why Turkey wasn't on my list, as I have been there for holidays once, but thanks for the suggestion. :)
ok...didn't know that, so where else have you been? Before I'm going to suggest some other places you've seen already;)
