Firstly, how on earth saying a sentence is considered going out of the way ???
saying good pleasent friendly word is recomended by prophet (pbuh) for saving one self from hell fire ( read the first hadees)
For heaven’s sake please tell me what is wrong in it ???
You are objecting on someone who is trying to following prophet’s commands ???
As you claim that you know what islam teaches , Do you have any hadees or quranic ayat which forbids muslims to say words of kindness to non-muslims specially neighbours ?
Please support your advice in light of teaching of quran and sunnah. Thanks
