In 1947, to end the deadlock situation during negotiation for transfer / division of United India’s assets between Pakistan and India, Mr Jinah was locked in a bedroom with:
a. Nehru
b. Gandhi
c. H M Patel

Re: History Mystery- Part 3
There so many funny stories related to this division issue. volumes of encyclopedia were torn apart to render entries from ‘A to K’ to India and remaining to Pakistan. If there was only one copy of a particular book available in a library, it was decided to be rendered to the country having more natural interest in that book. So there were debates who had more interest in ‘Alice in the wonderland’ and ‘Wuthering Heights’ ![]()
Re: History Mystery- Part 3

b.Gandhi
Re: History Mystery- Part 3
so, who got alice in wonderland? pak or india?
Re: History Mystery- Part 3
There were some emotional drama demands too. Muslims demanding dismantling of Taj Mehal to carry that to Pakistan, Hindus insisting for River Sindh (running through the centre of Pakistan) to be on their side, as their vedas were written on the banks of this river centuries ago. :D
Re: History Mystery- Part 3
lol, they imported more copies, as the reader didn’t return ‘Alice in wonderland’ back to library before being dislocated ![]()

Re: History Mystery- Part 3
the most suffered areas due to partition were Punjab and Bengal.
Pakistan got part of Bengal producing 85% world's jute having not a single processing factory of jute. Indian Bengal had to close hundred processing factories due to no yield of jute.
Pakistani Bengal faced shortage of around 70,000 tonnes of rice. Pakistan demanded India to return 10,000 tonnes rice send from Sindh to Delhi, but the reply was 'it was already consumed' :(
