Jehangir built Hiran Minar here in the memory of a deer call "Man-sukh’. He used the place as hunting ground. The city was settled by his grandson Darashikoh and therefore called ‘shikoh pura’ which later became sheikhu poora giving impression that it was built by Sheikhoo (Jehangir)
