Pakistans in semies and indias out. man i was hoping for a Pakistan india match. makes one wonder if india would have refused to play Pakistan in semis. They don’t play cricket with Pakistan afterall.
That would have been quite an embarrassing situation for hindutvas as they would have allowed india to play hockey but not cricket. we all know the real reason why india doesnt play cricket with Pakistan is because they get a THOROUGH beating from the hands of mighty Pakistanies so they shout political reasons and other tactics of cry babies.

Double treat for Pakistan in field hockey
By Kuldip Lal, Agence France-Presse
SYDNEY -- Pakistan set up an all-Asian semifinal against South Korea, in Olympic men's field hockey, after a tumultuous last round of preliminary matches on Tuesday.
Australia will take on the Netherlands in the other semifinal as India and Germany were eliminated on an extraordinary day at the State Hockey Centre.
Both semifinal matches will be played on Thursday with the final scheduled under lights on Saturday.
The curse of the defending champions -- no country has retained the Olympic title in the past 40 years -- appeared to have afflicted the Dutch when they were beaten, 2-0, by a rejuvenated Pakistan.
But in a stunning turnaround, England upset Germany 2-1 to give the Netherlands a new lease on life and a place in the semifinals.
Poland was equally generous to South Korea by holding India, the eight-time champions, to a 1-1 draw in the evening's last match played in pouring rain.
The draw left India and South Korea with eight points each and the same goal difference, but the Koreans advanced to the semifinals having defeated India 2-0 in the league match.
"We paid for not taking the chances that came our way," Indian coach Vasudevan Bhaskaran said. "The rain did not help matters either."
Hosts Australia topped Group B with a 2-1 win over the Koreans in the only match of the day that ended according to the form book.
Germany and the Netherlands also finished with eight points, but the Dutch moved ahead on a superior goal difference.
"This is the craziest Olympic tournament I have seen," said veteran Spanish umpire Santi Deo, who has attended all the Games since 1972.
India, clearly affected by the cold and wet weather, had to wait until the 53rd minute to take the lead when Dilip Tirkey hit home, a rebound off his own penalty corner shot.
But the Poles, who had surprised Atlanta silver-medallists Spain 4-1 last week, drew level less than two minutes before the final hooter, when Tomasz Cichy scored with a superb hit from the top of the circle.
Poland finished with five points, a creditable performance for a team returning to the Olympics after 20 years.
But it was Pakistan's superb win over the Dutch that sent the 15,000 fans into rapturous joy. Needing a win to stay alive, Pakistan scored once in each half, while the Dutch strikers fumbled repeatedly inside the circle.
The Dutch looked a far cry from the side that holds the Olympic and Champions’ Trophy titles as Tuen de Nooijer and Stephen Veen let slipped a dozen chances.
"The Dutch could not score because we did not allow them to," said Pakistani manager Islahuddin Siddiqui. "God willing, we will go further now."
Dutch coach Maurits Hendriks said, "I have rarely seen us miss so many chances. I think the players have been on a mountain so long they were afraid of falling off it."
But the British gave the Dutch an unexpected surprise by beating the Germans.
Germany, needing only a draw to move up, found their match in a British side determined to bow out on a high note.
Craig Parhman and Calum Giles scored for Britain, while Christian Mayerhoefer put one in for the Germans.
Veteran Jay Stacy, playing in his third and final Games, was Australia's hero with a penalty-corner 8 minutes before the end.
Both teams were locked 1-1 at half-time, through goals by Song Seung-Tae and Craig Victory, in a fast and furious match played under light rain at the start and a stiff breeze right through.
"We have put the poor form behind us and are starting to play well again," Australian coach Terry Walsh said. "We are focused on what we aim to do, and that is to reach the final."
