Everybody is making a big deal of those buddha statues, what taliban did to them was absolutely wrong but followers of buddhisim have said a long time ago that those statues doesn't mean anything to them (before their destruction)
Whole punjab, Sikhs were involved in killings of thousands of Muslims migrating to Pakistan..*
saaley baat tou aise kartay hain jaise Musalmano ne tuo choorian pehani hui thi and they transported Sikh to indian side on their Suzukies with all their women, chidren and belongings in the trucks following them under momin guards.
whole thing was one sick act and you are as guilty as hindus and sikhs.

That's the saddest part of all...Jinnah's dream of a pure Pakistan was destroyed from the first day Pakistan was formed - because, despite all the trash they've thrown in our faces, we continue to be "hindu ke chamchey".

Those involved in this act are bigots. Before generalizing it and using it as an excuse to spew hatred at one and all, do consider:
Firstly, these arent recent pictures. This happened in Delhi immediately after the Bamiyan Buddhas were trashed by the Taliban, citing Islamic reasons.
Secondly, someone said, buddhism has nothing to do with idols, hence no one should have been upset about the demolition of Buddhas. On the same note, Islam has no symbolisms. What these people burn is mere paper. The message of the Quran is safe, so what's the big deal?

queer........how u can say that budhism has nothing to do with idol?if not idols,then what all the budhists in this world worship?
Bamiyan statues were built for the sake of worship for the ancient travellers who used to pass through the silk route...and it is beieved that they were built by chinese travellers....because of the enrmous size of the statues ,even travellers and traders could see it from very long distances...
it is believed that budha has many incarnations ...in both the wings of budhism...heenayana and mahayana ,Budha hasbeen worshipped as an idol albeit some principle differences are there.......
and burning of quaran was just an act by some people who wanted to ostentate before the media persons and the public.....
