Re: Hinduism teaches polygamy/Polyandry

not all the indian are as lucky as kings

Re: Hinduism teaches polygamy/Polyandry

What does it mean by “well-tested women”

And then employing those “well-tesetd women” in carasing him?

What are these verses implying here?

Re: Hinduism teaches polygamy/Polyandry

Lahori Saheb…still I do not understand , what is your problem?

You post a link, then you post a question, then you post an answer, then you declare a victory…

Now I tell you frankly if we Hindus will 'learn religion at a madrisa type of religious school at the child age, we will look like just as you are in thinking and followings.

Do you understand, what I mean?

Re: Hinduism teaches polygamy/Polyandry

^ anjjan, I asked something. Don't derail the topic. There are clear cut quotations and we want to know about them.

Besides, I have already explained to you the things you are asking in the above posts.

Re: Hinduism teaches polygamy/Polyandry

/\/\/\Now I understand that in your case 'learning' of a religion is OK.

Again I repeat, you can write here your selective reply and I will endorse it. This is the only way to satisfy an intelligent person like you. You know what I mean.

Re: Hinduism teaches polygamy/Polyandry

^ I am not writting a selective reply. I am quoting Manusamriti ;)

Now tell me what are "well-tested women"

After that I have to go to the next thing, "polyandry" in Hinduism

Re: Hinduism teaches polygamy/Polyandry

Lahore bhai - of all the many descriptions and postings here one person has already stated Hindu kings allow multiple wives - so what is the problem you are angry about? (I want to understand, not chalanging you, ok?)

Another person also has said one or two times that many books are there - like Vedaism, Gita (Geeta), etc. So may be you are looking at one book and not others, may be?

That problem is always there - how anybody know what book they followed centuries before? For example in Christains, many branches are there called denamintions - like cathlick, protestans, epoiskopes etc. I think. each persion there have a little different book bible, even though all are called.....bible! amazing na!

ofcourse coming to Islam also there are you know many ways people believe of some things (I dont want to say what because why, create more problem, you know).

All I am saying (sorry to say to you) is everybody think one book is better than other, in same religion. So if you pick up one and say poligame etc it is not good

Re: Hinduism teaches polygamy/Polyandry

Great job.

Well, it will make no difference though…if one brings sun and moon over some people head they will still say…'where is sun!!? where is moon???

Re: Hinduism teaches polygamy/Polyandry

Poor modship.

Re: Hinduism teaches polygamy/Polyandry

Its very complex to understand Hindu Religion. Since its a religion without a single scared book. We have books which are guiding us, though not mandatory. Books like Gita, Ramayana, Mahabharata as Upanishads or Vedas are more guiding books. I have never heard of somebody getting punished by a Hindu king since Gita wasn't followed. I don't know the exact number but there are 100+ Upanishads.
What I see strength of Hinduism is its flexibility and constant fait in forces of upper beings.

Each person in Hinduism can follow a very varied religious practices from Idol worship, to pure mediation God.

As I said, you want to right about culture of a place you can't put them in boundaries. More of less same with Hinudism. Hence very few would have gone in all details of all the texts, there is so much material on spritualism and religion.

For me I found "History that was India" from "AL Basham" really good work on Hindu relgion.

Currently lots of practices of Indian constitution are said as Hindu practices. Though it would be clearly tough for anybody to explain what are Hindu practices. Since its an all encompassing relgion with varied means of worship.
