Hijacking is only when other people change the topic WITHOUT the consent of the initial poster. For example, if I open a thread with you, EMM, and we're talking and it goes off topic, then that's fine. However, If someone opens a thread and, hypothetically speaking ofcourse, you and Waqi start posting back and forth then I think it's rude and the sense of courtesy towards the initial poster has been lost.
