I dont care if people find her beautiful(everyones entitled to their own opinions) but i hate it when pakistani magazines call her the most beautiful woman in the subcontinent like Libas International did a few years ago. umm hello, even the pakistani drama actresses are prettier(nicer features and they have the guts to go on national tv with no makeup) and not even indians consider her the most beautiful indian. In a survey of Indian directors/actors etc. Sushmita Sen was listed as number one.
I've noticed pakistani people like Aishwarya Rai way more than indians. If you go to Indian forums and say she's the most beautiful person ever many people will disagree and bring in International stars like Jessica Alba and Angelina Jolie or local ones like Madhuri and Bipasha Basu for comparisons. In pakistani forums though she's GOD.
she looks gorgeous here but i wish she would gain some weight …i think she would look way cuter. like when she was on letterman, oprah and 60 mins she looked soo perfect. plus she should keep her hair shoulder length.
chiaiman- if u think everyone’s entitled to their own opinions why do you get frustrated at paki mags calling her prettiest in the world? the mags have articles written by independent men and women that express their independent opinions. if you dont agree you should write an article on who you think is prettier instead of wondering why xyz thinks this way. paki forums also express user’s independent opinions. e.g. i think iman ali is a makeup mess… but i dont obsess about why others think she’s hot. ash just happens to be a beauty in the eye of many a beholder… im sure there are prettier women in the world than ash, angelina and jessica alba even…but u know the saying “jungle mein morr nacha kiss nay dekha?”…
Why does being a fan of Aish bother so many people? I like her and I like her movies. I think she has a lot of class compared to other actress, especially Pakistani actresses like Meera, Neera, Saima, etc. Yeah, she may not be the most beautiful woman, but she certainly IS beautiful. Why does that bother you so much? Sheesh, the amount of Aish hating here in various threads is pathetic, lekin chorro. I don’t know what pleasure many of you get out of calling others ugly, which is what happens a lot here. Take a look at yourselves … I am sure you are far from being a model.

What I like about her is her pride about her country and where she comes from...that's what makes her beautiful!
In all her interviews one of the most common lines is about how she wants to show the world how beautiful and talented Indian girls are (which she has already proven fairly well!)
I know her in the west she has impacted the way people generally think about Indian/desi girls...I remember somone asking me where I was from and I told them my parents come from Pakistan, and they were like "oh, those girls are gorgeous, I know this one Indian girl that was on Oprah (which was ash), and she was just stunning and smart too!" (most ppl think we're all the same, altho I think we do differ, but they don't see the difference, perhaps like we don't see the diff in other ethnic groups (chinese/japanese )

Because magazines say it like its a fact. like that magazine said 'the subcontinents most beautiful face'. It wasnt just in any editorial either, it was in the articles section and i dunno about you but most people who read articles start believing in the stuff thats written. Like how magazines made Kareena Kapoor out to be an arrogant ***** and so many people hate her for that but when you actually meet her in person and read what a lot of people have to say about her she's very sweet.
^ It's the obsession with putting her down (or any 'unattractive' girl) that is weird. People on this site go overboard when it comes to hating her and putting her down ... and it's not limited to her, but calling other females, models and actresses ugly, etc. A bit sad and pathetic, haina? i think aish is pretty but i also think there are soo many other indians who are pretty as well...sonali bendre, diya mirza, aysha takia, etc....just like aish, many other desi ppl have light skin with light eyes...like: karishma, kareena, that girl from "lucky"....
its one thing to believe stuff about a persons "character" when a magazine says they are bit*y but another to see a hyena on a mag with the claim "prettiest woman in the world" and believe that. thats not the magazine's fault but the reader's stupidity. u should be able to decide for yourself. and judging from how many desi girls started wearing blue contacts after hum dil de chuke sanam and how songs featuring her are an instant hit...u can get an idea of what regular people think of her too.
I dunno about you but i certainly dont believe ash to be most pretty just cuz a magazine said so...i considered her beautiful ever since i saw her in an ad "touchme VIP talcum powder" in pakistan (long before she won the Miss world title) and ever since then....

Shes very popular thats obvious but her movies aren’t huge hits except the SLB ones. emran hashmi’s songs are always hits but i dont think hes as popular as others i think.
u are free to disagree but as far as my experience goes i saw a “re-surgence” in the light eyed craze among desis…observed in desi songs, videos, models, next door girls.
i already answered…we can go on and on about this. the fact is they are free to state whatever they please. only stupid people will “believe” without taking a second look at ash. again…im not impressed with ash cuz oprah said xyz about her but because i genuinley think she’s pretty. and most of her movies are incredible and have won her awards e.g. taal, devdas, hum dil de chuke sanam, khakee. other great ones are raincoat. its the whole package of decent acting, looks and dancing.

ok i'll admit that I do get envious of Ash's looks occasionally when i'm not feeling my best but I think there is definitely more to her than just her outside appearance it's how she is a combination of beauty, brains and a huge amount of confidence. I thought that was the case most of all during the miss world contest when the majority of the audience loved her because she was so charming on stage as well as breathtakingly beautiful.
But it is definitely how well she carries herself that's most attractive.
Interesting to see how many people actually go inane over someone who is merely there to entertain us. It is her job to act, dance look all pretty in movies so whether she is naturally beautiful or not we won't know unless someone from the public wakes up next to her one day and has a good look at her without make-up.
There's no denying that she is a very talented woman. I saw her first movie Aur Pyar Ho Gaya and thought she was fantastic in it. I then watched Taal and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and thought she was brilliant in them as well. I've only watched these three movies of her which were at the beginning of her career and it was assumable that she would be Bollywoods top actress one day and she is.
As far as her beauty is concerned, any ugly duck can look gorgeous to an extent with the help of make up team and airbrushing. She's a prior Miss World so she was naturally beautiful and she still is a very pretty woman but she's over-rated in my opinion. She is most certainly not the most beautiful woman on the planet. I've seen some hardcore Aishwarya fans who think no other woman exists....Makes me think what deluded morons, she doesn't even know you exist. Accepted, she has lovely eyes, lips, figure, hair, skin but so what? So do many other models and actresses we see. I would prefer to see Sushmita Sen on a magazine cover anyday or Rani Mukherjee in a movie.
