What else do i call someone who wants "rules" on a message board? I mean all jokes aside, do you really enjoy people telling you what to do? You really want to be told whats common sense? I mean come on, we are all grown ups here, we dont need to be told how many threads to open or not to put a smiley there or not to flood. If thats what someone calls having fun, then let em have it.
If nobody wanted rules, why was there general to begin with? Why couldn't everyone enjoy in cafe? I'll tell you. Because mature people wanted to stay away from the cafe nonsense and wanted some rules where nobody is utilizing full smiley limit, where nobody is flooding the thread with childish replies. So actually mature people do want rules. It's children that want to break rules. If mature people didn't like rules, there wouldn't be laws or regulation in the real world.
Besides, gupshup cares about objectivity of the site, not subjectivity. More posts mean more popularity means more clicks means more ad-revenue means higher site price. Simple as that.

I see one place where there are some rules. Take the simple rule of flooding (opening more than 2-3 threads at once or 3 consecutive posts). I see the other place where there are really no rules (except profanity and rude behavior). Obvious the first one seems better.
I used to like General more than cafe because you got to read serious stuff here, away from the children, but now look at it.
**General / All Views is not what you are "seeing" today. We will have rules ofcourse, it is not that it will be like a machli mandi. All Views is not really "All Views/General" that you are seeing TODAY. I am pretty sure that you are aware of the "unnessecary threads*" being opened in All Views today, most of them are frustrated threads jaha log apnay andar ka izhar kissi aur tareekay say kar rahe haiN. That is totally fine, but since we STILL are in a middle of some changes, abhi ham doosri cheezoN par dehaan day rahe haiN.
Rules are going to come, so they are clear to everyone. "Unplugged" concept does not mean kay banda bager sochay samjay idhar aa kar kuch bhi kehne lag jaye, ofcourse there will be guidlines that will need to be followed, but unka mayaar itna "sakht" nahi ho ga jitna hota tha, but is ka matlab ye har giz nahi kay banda is concept ko MISUSE karay. That is the main thing to understand.
The changes** are not complete yet, we are still in process, and Inshallah in the coming days you will see some things happening.
So it will be very wrong to start comparing the forums at this time with other sections.

Nope. Pointing out the obvious. If such threads are not appreciated in cafe and it is an issue then, EMM should know better. She has been a Mod after all. Right?
Anyway, carry on ... Things might get better due to passage of time.

lol...u gave some quality thread to that forum, and i am sure many people spent some quality time there. many were also involved in quality discussion (ok to some extent).
i m sure brother u did ur level best, and it wasn't as crappy as it is currently.
on a same token i must also add, though cafe is considered some "bonga" corner, but the fact is it is really hard to come up with new innovative and catchy threads all the time.
Also you cant make everyone happy, this is the FACT!
i m not saying there wasn't any conflict between u and AQ, but guyz stop pin pointing, just apologize each other (ghaltian insaano say he hoti hain), set some good example for us and MOVE ON!

Thank you for your kind words. I know what I have done for cafe and admins know that too as it was apparent from the reports they generate EACH MONTH to evaluate mods and their performance. I also agree that for the past few weeks or months, cafe has become a deserted place. There is so much mods can do, users have to be willing to help as well and mods need to be trying different things. I def. believe that my way of moderation was different than current mods, that does not mean my way was better than their way of doing things. Chat is one of the main reason why cafe is boring these days.
I am not sure what the conflict between me and AQ has to do with this, but I will say one thing: I will not taunt him or give him a hard time as he did with me because otherwise there will be no difference between us.
