In the event that a girl gets pregnant, and decides to have the baby, or abort it, either way, the problem lies on both party’s shoulders, at least in this part of the world.

PCG -i had an argument with my aunt long time ago about why its not ok for girls to have affairs and ok for guys to (which is a weird question since u need a girl and guy to have an affair. usually), before marriage. and her reasoning was because "girls get pregnant and guys dont so girls need to protect themselves" ??!
it just doesnt make sense.
the whole concept of these "other" girls, also called "evil" "kharaab" "awara" "bad-challan" "be-haya" etc etc whereas the man thats with them is ignored.
and since everyone KNOWS that man is after sex and woman is after love (haha) then in that case only the man should be blamed for sleeping around because the woman never really wanted sex, she just wanted love. it was the man that wanted to do the dirty deed.

Fret, I would think so also, but its common knowledge that many men abandon the ladies they get pregnant. They just walk away from the problem. Now in the States, I don't know if a woman can sue a man for reckless abandonment if he got her pregnant outside of marriage, and I don't know if he is legally obligated to provide for the child. These sorts of situations end up icky, quite often, and the child is either aborted or winds up in the foster care system, or is raise by the single mother without support from the father.

If a child is born, then legally monetary support must be provided.

What happens, in America, if the man has not got the finances to provide child support?

Everything goes through the courts. The man (or the woman in some circumstances) has to prove their income, and the courts will decide how much child support is necessary based on the needs of the child. If the party doesn’t have any source of income, then I believe they don’t pay. However, I’m not sure if backpay is built up.
