My mother-in-law is a jeweler and I've worked with her around diamonds, so although I'm not an expert in the least, I can see that it's a nice ring. The color, clarity and cut are very good. The size is under 1 ct, so a little on the smallish side, but because of the shape the diamond is nicely framed by the setting. It looks like white gold with some yellow gold on the side, very pretty. I hope the next fiancee doesn't expect to 'pick her own ring'. My cousin was heart broken once by a girl he proposed to and the first thing she said was that that's not the kind of ring she likes. I hope you find a nice girl.

Carats are not the only factor in pricing diamonds. Size matters, but so do clarity, cut and color as well as any flaws the diamond may have. Also the gold kts makes a difference in price.

Any woman who expects or demands a diamond or any other jewelry, should be kicked out of one's life...if she is wife, should be divorced immediately.
The same goes for "men" who ask for or expect jahez or anything from girl or her family.
Marriage is an expression of love, and love should be above all greed.
But that is just how i think.
