Yeah, if I were you...I'd only play up the eyes and keep it not too dark. Have fun with the shades...I do think you'd pull off purple just fine though.
Keep the lips nude/pink and the rest of your face fresh and glowy!
Man, I would SO ask you to post pics here when you do wear the sari and get all dressed up but I know that might be a little odd...:(
If u're sari is dark use a pale purple and silver.. if u;re sari is a light purple then go for smokey eye-makeup. And purple will look nice! Just keep u're lips neutral or a very pale pink.

smokey eyes with kajal and mascara with a little silver applied to the eyelid -
go for a neutral lip color - if you line your lips with a deep mauve liner and use a nude lipcolor inside it usually takes on the color of your liner.. that way it wont be overly dramatic and give you a softer look!
yay, i love her. i remember she had a lovely soft silvery/brown smokey tutorial. that would be perfect, i think. if i can find it.
