Re: help required

A very common cause of hair fall in women is iron deficiency, known as anemia. If your hair falling is getting worse, please consult a doctor. After a blood test, it can be determined if you are low in iron and other nutrients or if you have a hormonal balance or if you have a thyroid condition. Or even if it is a fungal problem.

I went to the doctor for my hair as well. And he did a blood test to determine if I had a thyroid condition. Alhumdolillah the test results were normal. My iron levels were fine as well, BUT the doctor still prescribed me iron tablets for my hair. Because even if you are border line deficient in iron, it won't show up in a blood test for some reason.

So, please consult your doctor first. In the mean time, make sure that you are taking a multivitamin daily. Your hair can only be as good as your body is on the inside. Eat a healthy diet, get sufficient sleep, exercise, and reduce the stress in your life.

What helped me is the iron tablets (but consult a doctor before taking iron pills) and applying an oil containing methi seeds, which are used to treat hair conditions and have been helpful to several people. Here are the ingredients, which can be easily found in yor local desi store.

Mustard oil
Olive oil
Methi (fenugreek seeds)
container/water bottle.

Procedure: Fill the water bottle up with methi seeds about half-way. Then pour in the mustard oil. Followed by the olive oil. Use the same quantity for both oils. If you use 1/2 cup of mustard oil, then you should use 1/2 cup of olive oil. When you get done, it should like the oil is resting on top of the seeds. Do NOT shake the bottle. You are not going to be applying the seeds to your scalp....only the oil. The methi sees will lend their affect to the oil. Let the bottle sit for a day, so it can steep. And you apply it the following day. Use gentle motions to massage your scalp. And wash your hair 30 minutes to an hour later. Some people recommend oiling hair every day...others skip a day...and some apply it a couple times a week. Find what works best for you. Be patient, it will take about 3 months to see a difference.
