These are not considered short cuts in majority of the world......., so its not just india pak and middleeast, in UK you dont have to get an undergrad degree before going to med school either.

here in Canada, its a must and so is in the US. untill a few years ago, here you could apply for med school after 3 years of undergraduate studies, NOT anymore.**
