Help! Moving to Mississauga from UK

Re: Help! Moving to Mississauga from UK

^ Kewlll!

I have been living in missisauga for eleven years now and love it. This place has grown alot in that period. I think most members here have already told you what you need to know. Let me just warn you again, don’t start business with out doing proper research. You need to get to know locations and other things first. I am sure you already know all this.

As for renting a place, may I ask how many family members you have? We are actually thinking of renting our place out. We have moved to a different place for now . You can check my posting on craig list,

Re: Help! Moving to Mississauga from UK

anyone heard of the port hotel in missisuaga if so is it any good or any other suggestions?

Re: Help! Moving to Mississauga from UK

Ports Hotel - Mississauga, Canada

Ports Hotel is located in Port Credit (part of Mississauga) which is a much older community and predominantly white. The hotel is located right on the shore of Lake Ontario so has a great view. It is located near the Port Credit GO train station (5-7 min walk) from where you can take trains into Downtown Toronto or take the local Mississauga transit buses into town.

Never stayed there personally but i know from experience hotels in that area are usually a bit pricey. Are you going to be landing in Canada and staying at that hotel for a bit?

Re: Help! Moving to Mississauga from UK

Yep initially we will be staying in a hotel just came across this one.Any suggestions?

Re: Help! Moving to Mississauga from UK

Do you know anybody who lives in mississauga attique? Any relative or close family friend? How about staying somewhere close to them?

Re: Help! Moving to Mississauga from UK

Nope don't know anyone completely new for me.But i am looking on the net to book in to a hotel just don't know what area will be best or shall i just go for central?

Re: Help! Moving to Mississauga from UK

attique27, if you are looking to stay in Mississauga, I would suggest staying at Studio 6 extended stay. Extended Stay Hotel Rooms by Studio 6 Extended Stay Hotel

Mississauga location: Studio 6 Mississauga Ontario Extended Stay Hotel

They have very good prices. Most suites have small kitchens with cutleries/utencils/fridge/microwave/stove top in them. So if you are not planning to eat out every day 3 times a day, then this is the best option.
You will get good discount as this hotel is specifically for longer stays. When you contact them ask for extended stay suites.

This branch is in Mississauga at Hurontario and Britannia intersection which is the HUB of Pakistanis. You will find all Pakistani resturants, grocery stores etc. Lots of shopping stores and Malls (like Square One).
It is also 2 intersection away from Mississauga City Center (downtown).
Also I am not sure if you are renting the car or will be using the transit. Mississauga transit runs close to this hotel, so you can easily go to Toronto city or other locations in Mississauga.

If you are planning to rent after few days of stay in hotel, you will be able to find townhomes or houses easily in this area.

Let me know if you have more questions.
P.S. Also lot of us guppies live in this area as well and might be able to help you.

Atique bhai Salam,
I am not that old but i have travelled almost every part of Canada ,i lived in brampton years ago and came to alberta , one thing you have to keep in m8nd that no one else has discussed is weather missisauga is the best place to live wt family alot of pakistani families ,neat and clean, roads are good standard wise its 10/10.
in calgary in winter its too cold alot more snow than missisauga. and i been there alotbof time honestly as compared to missisauga will give it 5 out of 10. (no offence to ppl living in calgary)
