Re: Hazrat Zain-ul-Abideen (AS)
actually brother bashir, ibn-e-kathir mentions the story just to negate it....
he mentions the same meaning as i have told u earlier....
and then says that some ppl say that it talks about showing love to the family of the prophet (saw)....
he recalls this story and other narrations and mentions how they r all zaeef and mubham and also mentions hassan ashqar as the originator of these stories calling him a shiaa and a liar and inventor of false ahadith....
he also says that in bukhari, it is that abdullah bin jubair (ra) mentioned before abdullah bin abbas (ra) that this verse means ahl-e-bait, but abdullah bin abbas (ra) negates him saying "u have hurried to a false conclusion".... infact the Prophet (saw) was in some way or other related to all families of Quraysh and it was this relation on basis of which he sought love and good treatment from them...
ibn-e-kathir alos mentions that the verse was revealed in Mecca and fatima (ra) was not even married at the time and hence conclusion that it wud mean fatima's (ra) husband and children is just false assumption.....
next time, when u copy/paste make sure ur references r right....
and make sure u read the thing urself....
and if u read urself, make sure u read it all....
so to clarify once again, ibn-e-kathir mentions this story of ali bin hussain (ra) with clarification that it is a false narration....
he further says that he does not oppose the idea of loving the family of the prophet (saw) and also gives examples from the quotes of Abu Bakar (ra) and Umar (ra) showing that they loved the Prophet's (saw) family more than their own....
but this specific verse does not talk about them....

They were right.

I had done.
and if u read urself, make sure u read it all....
I did do.
Your forthcoming apology is accepted :)
Had the older messages not been deleted you would have been able to remind yourself of what I had written, and would have noticed that I did say that Ibn Katheer does not seem to favour the so-called Shia interpretation. The point was that, unlike what you were saying earlier, there was no question raised of arabic grammar! Perhaps you forgot your earlier assertion?
so to clarify once again, ibn-e-kathir mentions this story of ali bin hussain (ra) with clarification that it is a false narration....
As far as the incident of Ali Zain al-Abideen is concerned, can you quote Ibn katheer's words that signify this "clarification that it is a false narration" specifically regarding the incident of Ali bin al-Husain?
