I would actually not mind eating at a pub if the smell of alcohol and smoking didn’t tear apart my nose and lungs.

When I think of pubs…I think of small, dark, dingy, hallway looking thing with dudes hanging around outside smoking.

I don’t know if that’s the case with European pubs.

If I go to a place liiiike say Olive Garden…I don’t avoid the restaurant because they have a full bar there.

However, every so often a few of us will get together for cheddar cheese tator tots in a a a a a sports bar. I don’t drink, never felt the need or desire to and I feel perfectly comfortable exercising my rights anywhere!

There is a difference between a pub and a** gastro**pub, the latter being an actual dining establishment. Gastropubs are more refined, and usually have fantastic, specialty menus, not “bar grub”.

When I think of “pub”, it’s usually crowded, loud, and all about the beer, sports, darts and casual. Gastropubs are not any different from a restaurant, so it wouldn’t bother me. There are a few “gastropubs” here in my city with fantastic food, and my friends and I often go on our girls nights out, even though none of us drink.

Yes, the pubs I’m on about are like this.. gastropubs.. and they serve lovely food.. as in restaurants it’s not considered socially acceptable to get v.drunk in them either..

My dad has started going for weekend lunches at a nearby one and my mum has freaked out.. He’s asked us to go and have a nice meal there every Sunday.. havan’t been to that particularly one but I’ve heard their food is amazing..

Food at pubs here is definitely not halal. Wont eat. I dont mind sitting with coworkers but wont eat the food.

No problems with eating in a pub for me its just like any other restaurant. But i would probably avoid those pubs/times where people do heavy drinking since i wont be able to enjoy my food because of the smell and all that noise/screaming..

i rather not. i have eaten seafood in the past at non halal places, in the usa when i was with relatives…but i hv stopped that for the past 2 yr. ur fish may be fried in the same oil and pan where bacon was fried.

I enjoy gastropubs as they usually have live music playing and what not, bit weary about how clean their kitchen is but that’s to be said for any food establishment
