Humans of these days are more scary than Jinns , I guess they will refuse to live with humans and go live somewhere else in peace, away from humans.

If u hear the door open and close etc, use it to start a conversation (check its not the maid 1st!).
In my old house in pakistan there was a presence in my bedroom and the adjoining lounge. I heard the doors open and close and no one was there. And the interconnecting door between the 2 rooms used to creak open and shut too.
So I used to have a conversation with whatever was moving stuff. I said, if u r good, creak twice, if bad creak once. It appeared to be good so we nicknamed it "baba", as the lounge used to be my husbands grandfathers room previously.
Once we had the music on REALLY loud at night, and suddenly the music stopped, just at the time Isha azan started. I looked at the the tape and saw that the pause button was pressed, but there was definitely NO ONE near the the tape...

woooo wait a min so u r telling me to converse with them,wat if they are evil, my small things keep disappearing y wuld some wise jin wanna do that to me
Things kept disappearing in our house too, but i reckon it was different entities than our friend baba.
U c we asked if u r good, creak twice, once if u r bad. Also baba did things like shut the tape if the azan was taking place. Also, when the lounge was later turned into a bedroom for another member of the family, some unknown presence kept leaving money in the room, like u look one minute theres nothing, the next theres a nice pile of rupees on the dressing table or bed. Happened often, until it was discussed openly and then it stopped.
Things like 1 out of a pair of toothbrushes, watches, one part of a 2 part clothes set disappeared and couldnt be found even tho i definitely put them in a certain place. Searched everywhere. Then a few days later they were found back with as a pair. A shalwar disappeared for ages and was found laid flat out inside a storage case stuck amongst a pile of cases that was not easy to get to without moving other stuff out of the way first.
So by that i would class them as
Helpful, friendly and naik.
or Harmless
or Mischievious
or Worse, but i hope not to come across this, Inshallah.
Why are you trying to scare them away… I am not saying that you are hideous or something but trying to do ‘Totka’s’ to repel them is really not required.
To me they apear like harmless jin youngsters. Being playful with you There is no need to get scared. Think of any person( your sibling or cousin or friend) doing these things to you, It would hardly be any thing to get scared of.
So dont be scared of them. Most jins are good natured folks. They dont harm people. They just live in some places which are later occupied by humans and thus feel little agitated.
Put yourself in into their shoes. Think if you ar living at some house for decades and all of sudden some new occupants arrive there and start living with you. Wont you be little displeased ?
Humans always do this to jinns. And most of the time jinn being humble and docile creatures , the move to some other place. but some time jinns do retaliate in aggressive manner.
Thankfully in your case they seem like good natured folks, as they are not trying to harm you. just teasing you and being naughty.
Give them due respect. They are also creatures of Allah just like you. Treat them with kindness and compassion. 
i am interested in JINS. i wish i could have friendship with nice and good jins...........
i know ur making sense but i cant help getting scared,i dont wanna share my home with things i cant see.i ve done everything but the noise wont stop n it gets really bad late nite
