An Israeli air strike has killed at least 18 Lebanese civilians, including women and children, who were fleeing southern border areas. It is the deadliest single attack since the bombardment began on Wednesday.
An eyewitness to the attack, Akram Ghannam, told al-Jazeera television that after being turned away from the UN base residents were forced to leave the village.
Ghannam said a pick-up truck and two cars full of children and elderly people left Marwahin for Tyre in southern Lebanon.
He said Israeli aircraft raided the vehicles.
Medical sources have said around half the passengers were children or teenagers.

somebody explain because im not that well-read on the politics of this region....so all it comes down to is this.....unless there's more to the story......
Muslim countries and their governments are willing to accept Israel but their population base is extremely uneducated and brainwashed into hating Jews, etc.
So any country which tries to recognize Israel has to do under circumstances in which its beneficial to the country or that their population agrees with the decision.
Egypt and Jordan both recognized Israel not because their population supported such a stance but because both country's economy had been bled try in waging war with Israel and in Egypt's case, winning back the Sinai from Israel
As for Pakistan, it will slowly happen. Israel plans to withdraw from West Bank by 2010, so I guess around that time that diplomatic relations between Israel and Pakistan can begin.

Jews fought along side Muslims when the Crusaders attacked the Holy Land. Jews were an important part of Islamic Society in Arabia in the 7th-13th Centuries. Jews from Europe fled to Arabia to escape persecution.
But after destruction of the Baghdad Library by Gengis Khan, Ottoman Invasion, the Arab world reverted back from its enlightenment period.
