The discussion at hand sweetheart are comments made by posters that the ideal/notion/concept/view/dream of the Ummah is to be ridiculed.
Put it this way "I have a dream" by Martin Luther King is such an ideal/notion/concept/view/dream. It was one well before it became reality. Why ridicule an ideal or a notion? More importantly was that notion of Black people being equal to Whites wildly impractical?
you cant get an answer from me about people who bash the concept in isolation, since most Muslims atleast aspire to it, if nothing else than in an end-of-days scenario. i say repeatedly, it is in context of current world affairs topics, where the Ummah is often posited as the panacea to what ails us, does it become a legitimate target for derision. And I maintain that this constitutes most of the disparaging of Ummah on these forums, along with that of the primary organizations serving as advocates of actualizing this concept these days.
