I just wander if the announced COAS or the army has a whole for once will stood for the sake of protection of the country and will ask Musharraf politely that

"Sir, your time is up, you may leave now, Else..."

It's just that the Army and the VCOAS who is only COAS designate so far and not the COAS, know better, that Musharraf's exit is NOT the only/simple/best answer to all problems, nor is he entirely/solely resposnible for everything that ever goes wrong from the melting glaciers in Gilgit to fears of a Tsunami in the Arabian Sea.

Leaving aside his virtues and wrongs, just think that if his stepping aside can reduce the casualties, then why should not we move on this path. Why can't he take this step himself, if he love Pakistan so much. Come on yaar, for the sake of the soul of the Quaid, for the sake of the survival of this remaining Pakistan... if this sacrifise can reduce the speed of our fall of harmony, then for once show some care and sense of the purpose. I wander if i will ever hear that "My fellow country men, for the love of this country, i m stepping down from both the positions with immediate effect"

He loves Pakistan so he's sticking around. Warna itni gaalyan kha ke to Benazir/Nawaz type dheet corrupt absolute-power-democrats would also step away and forego the access to looting wealth unaccounted. Can anyone label Musharraf's person corrupt in that way? What is he sticking around for then? And no not so his 'corrupt brigade of political leaders elected by the people' can carry on with corruption.
Again, what's in it for him? Power; but what has he gained out of that power for himself? For his kids, family, brothers...? Instead he has his own life at stake...
