How about Saudi? Don't forget Nigeria has half non-muslim population too. Success is not just sky scrapper, medical and educational facilities. Success is when every citizen is able to live life of a respectable muslim in freedom, pray and raise kids as true momins. Western societies have evolved in the successful way as you talk about but how about happiness? Every other person has atleast one of the following: Depression, Anxiety, or even cancer
I was going to reply with a serious answer, but then read your last sentence. Thank you for the Monday evening comedy.
Re: Has Pakistan ever had non-sunni president or prime minister?
Moin was the interim PM for 2-3 months, did a good job of conducting elections in 1993 and had a nice presentable personality! Pak-one, do you know him personally?

Re: Has Pakistan ever had non-sunni president or prime minister?
^^ He is impressed by the 'democrartic system' of Saudia !
We need the best leaders that will allow us to move forward as a nation.
I totally agree. That is why there should be no religious test of anyone in public office & no one should be barred from holding any public office b/c of their religious beliefs. That is why, I think, we should get rid of constitutional clause that says only Muslim can be a president & instead it should say only smartest and brightest & corruption free people can hold public office. :)

U know they are waiting, all they have to do is hold on for 12 more years and then...I'll be the president :)

very twisted logic here, its not true that ahmadi dont give daughters to non ahmadi... they do it and i know many people who are married to them.

Yea ok I am going to believe some random persons statement that ones daughter marrying an Ahmadi = Being Ahmadi. If you're going to make something up, don't come up with outlandish reasoning.

Spock bro, Dr. Qureshi had no real political ambitions, he was asked to facilitate the transition which he did very well. I have utmost respect for the man and his intellect is superb.
My family knows him very well. Whenever I am in the DC area, I try to stop by for a quick chat. So learning about his "Ahmadi" beliefs was an interesting twist, particularly when the person making that claim used his daughter's marriage to justify it.

He is confirmed Ahmedi though he might not admit due to certain complexities in the Constitution of Pakistan which dosent allow PM of Pakistan to be Ahmedi but he was interim so might be this rule is not applicable to him.
His news of PMship was made a lead in Newspaper Al-Fazal , only newspaper of Ahmedis in Pakistan published from Rabwa .I also have read this newspaper a lot.
Are you Ahmadi too? If not, why do you take this keen interest in 'Ahmadi newspapers"? ![]()
Seriously though, there is absolutely no merit to your statements. Considering the fact that he currently resides in the US (so no persecution) and is well confirmed to be non-Ahmadi. So just let it go chief.
Re: Has Pakistan ever had non-sunni president or prime minister?
:D
My upper portion house was once rented to Ahmedi family and i used to read thier newspaper secretly when postman threw it in afternoon. Although they know it but they never objected it , they were nice people :D

So you were an Ahmadi renting landlord!?! Don't you know that they the letter "A"on their forehead for easier identification..I am kidding
As for Dr. Qureshi, he was pretty involved in the Sunni Muslim community and we have prayed with him. Many members of my family are in the diplomatic corps so they get the chance to interact with all types of personalities. Usually Ahmadis are not afraid to identify themselves in the US. Besides it makes no difference to us, whether they are Ahmadi or not. Allah knows best :)
