Has ISI lost its purpose of existence?

Re: Has ISI lost its purpose of existence?

MR Real Deal okay just remove ISI let guess there are 100 bombing in a year than there will atleast 1000 bombings many of our people are traitors
what they is keep your mouth shut when you dont know

Re: Has ISI lost its purpose of existence?

and realdeal in ISI human works not angels like you so they cant be perfect

Re: Has ISI lost its purpose of existence?

Pathetic excuse.

I see bombings every week, meaning intelligence failures every week. Only a fool would call that a success.

I used to think like you when I was younger, than I grew up, and saw the reality.

Don't let immature jingoism blind you.

Re: Has ISI lost its purpose of existence?

How many bombings do you see in USA, UK, Saudi Arabia, etc?

Compare -how many do you see in Pakistan?

Stop being a naive fool.

Re: Has ISI lost its purpose of existence?

Again, I am not saying that ISI is giving 100% result. I was just stating that you cant see what has not happened or whats being stopped by ISI. When you have a war next door (or in fact in house) its impossible to stop 100% attacks.

Please dont let hatred towards an entity blind you from positives.

Re: Has ISI lost its purpose of existence?

When UK had war next door IRA was all over UK. Its only after IRA surrendered bombings stopped in UK.

Indian Punjab, Israel.... u name it. Any country who had a war next door or some internal unrest, was unable to stop 100% attacks

Calling names only tells that someone is out of logic and out of words.

Re: Has ISI lost its purpose of existence?

wasn't it named one of the top 10 best intelligence agencies in the world a couple months back?
they're obviously doing something right to get that status

Re: Has ISI lost its purpose of existence?

This is the reason why discussing Pakistan related issues is least desirable on forums, you get opinions from all kinds of lowly educated bigots who don't even know how to debate.

And thanks CM, Decent 6 and others for your input.

My point of this thread was not to question the efficiency of the ISI, as its efficiency is well known worldwide.

I'm particularly concerned about their direction, working with CIA for years when CIA is busy in destabilizing Pakistan and planning terrorist attacks inside Pakistan. ISI shouldn't have any ties with them all those years with these activities happening.

Re: Has ISI lost its purpose of existence?

ISI obviously doesn't have to be a branch of CIA, but supporting American CIA in the fight against Taliban and other extremists is definitely in the best interest of Pakistan.
Actually former ISI agents like Hamid Gul are the ones responsible for destroying Pakistan with their support to extremism.

Re: Has ISI lost its purpose of existence?

You seem to have your world upside down. It is not CIA busy destabilizing Pakistan and planning terrorist attacks. Rather it is the Taliban and their affiliates who are planning and executing khariji attacks all over Pakistan and thus destabilizing Pakistan. And they have financial support from Persian Gulf countries, especially Saudis.
So these are the people who have destroyed generations of Pakistanis.

One does not have to consider CIA to be the friend of Pakistan, but in this fight against extremism, CIA is not an enemy. The enemy is takfiri extremists around us and countries who support these takfiris.

Re: Has ISI lost its purpose of existence?

for matured politicians we need the democratic cycle to go on for a couple of decades at least.

Re: Has ISI lost its purpose of existence?

and I guess thats wat our generals and leaders were saying from late 70's to 80's while fighting a US war in afghanistan.
what was that? war against communism or against islam...i forgot

Re: Has ISI lost its purpose of existence?

what a naive fool.

its the goverments job to protect its citizens, once the gov functions properly all the problems will disappear.

it was the army that captured the terroists and the so called democractic goverment that let them free. when you have so many conflicts how is one organisation suppose to function properly.

had it not been for the isi/army pakistan was long gone.

Re: Has ISI lost its purpose of existence?

Again, you have failed to realize what ISI has achieved so far in last 10 years even when "working with CIA", ISI is still successful in its agenda while CIA is failing.

Re: Has ISI lost its purpose of existence?

@ The Real Deal - what makes you think that the ISI actually wnats to stop people blowing themselves up? Many people in Pakistan talk about how the agencies are actually a part of what is going on. If we believe what some people have said about the ISI ie supporting warlords in Afghanistan then the last thing they have bothered about is the loss of life. The whole Swat issue is seen as a game by many people living in that area. Thousands of people have died but they are just "awam" - have our elite and establishment consisting of military generals, senior bureacrats, politicians, landlords, senior Mullahs ad other religious leaders, industralists ever bothered what happens to the "awam"?

One question comes to mind is that do the ISI really not know that thousands of Americans are running around especially Pesahwar, Lahore and Islamabad? Are they really blind to what is going on? I have a NICOP card and even that raoses suspicions and i am sure intelligence agencies do start snooping around. I know my hotel room in Tharparkar was entered - nothing stolen - who could have done that?
