Has anyone ordered from Naazish Hussain? - Review Thread

I'll put up some pics in the next few days. I also ordered the red and cream outfit that Lara ordered and my pics will probably be very similar to hers.

I actually liked her work overall. Like I said, the embroidery and kaam was a lot better than I have seen others do (maybe she is good at certain types of kaam?), it was very neat and very precise. And the overall effect was nice, I did get complimented on my outfits and I do think they looked good. She is also not overpriced (I dont think $300 for a semi-formal/formal outfit is reasonable for a non-big name designer).

I just thought that if you are a stickler for detail (like I am), then she could have done better. It prob wouldnt cost a lot more to upgrade the quality of the material. And the customer service issue seems to a standard problem with Pakistani designers, big or small. They are all dripping sweetness till you pay for your order or receive it, after that they react badly to complaints and get defensive and accusatory. In my case, she decided to make the kameez about 5 inches shorter than I had specified and insisted I had told her to do so until I sent her the long chain of emails showing her I had done no such thing. She then did offer to have it fixed but not until she got back to Karachi and by then I had already worn the outfit on the wedding function I ordered it for. It turned out ok for me because the kameez actually looked pretty good even though it was shorter than what I had wanted and I probably wont change it but point is, if you have a compaint, you really have to ram it home and have proof to back it up.

I will repeat though that I did like her work because I dont want the negative to drown out the positive.

I will probably order from her again at some point. Just with the condition that I insist on better material and make sure I specify that the measurements are not upto her judgement.

Re: Has anyone ordered from Naazish Hussain?

Is that $30 special price for that red and cream suit still on and what does the dupatta looks like, do you even get one?

Re: Has anyone ordered from Naazish Hussain?

I think the 'special price' was for the clutch if you bought it with the suit. And dont think its still on but from I could tell, I think you could negotiate it with her. Sounded like you could get lower quotes for the outfit if you bargained a bit.

Re: Has anyone ordered from Naazish Hussain?

$30 for that horrible glued clutch, I thought Lara had written the deal was suit and clutch together.

So what is the normal price of the red and cream suit ?

Re: Has anyone ordered from Naazish Hussain?

The red and cream suit with reduced kaam was $160. The normal price she quoted me was $185 I think. The special was if you want a matching clutch with your suit, it will be additional $30. She told me in an email that the clutch was going to look like it was worth $50 in her opinion.

I agree with Narissa that i liked the kaam. The kameez fitting is very good. I actually look pretty slim in them. My issues were with the sloppiness and unlined chiffon sleeves.

The red and cream suit has a red dupatta with gold trim all around it.

I agree about the sloppiness part as well.

Sent her an e-mail about a week ago but haven't heard back from her yet... Meh, guess she is too busy to take on new clients.

Re: Has anyone ordered from Naazish Hussain?

I received my order which I have described above before she left on her USA tour. Review this email exchange from yesterday:

Hello Nazish,

I was trying on the outfits I ordered from you today and the pants are really tight. Previously when I received your order, the kameezes fit perfectly and even I felt slim. I didn't really try the pants.

I was planning on wearing them in July and at first thought I had gained some weight but today got the measuring tape out and see they are not as wide in the hips area as they were supposed to be. They are measuring for a 36 inch hips. My attached questionnaire which you had me fill out for measurements gave 45 inch waste all the way around.

Although they measure out to be the same size with the tape measure, for some reason, the red pants are much more tighter than the bronze pants. I don't know if this can be adjusted with the elastic. I think the fabric just is not there??

Is it possible for you to remake the pants and send it with the clutch?? Attached is the measurement document I had sent you.

Thanks.

This is her response:

i wish i cud help you on that but i dont remake anything that people have received unless they let me know within2 4 hours...thts why i email them and ask abt fitting and everything...the pants can be fixed by your local tailor if they are tighter but i double checked the measurements form teh hips before i sent it...sometimes clients have slight adjusting problems so they always get it fixed themsleves...because they gain or lose weight or havnt taken the measurements right but i remeber double checking your pants and shirt and it has been so long i cant really remake anything unless you pay me for extra pants or shipping...I appreciate your comments and this will help me in future but i really wish i had known about this within 24 hours to be able to suggest you something..ask your local tailor anything can be easily fixed because i have enuff fabric inside

Yes, you can help me. If the local tailor is not going to be able to fix this, I am going to be even more upset. I received my order right when she was leaving for her USA tour and she wouldn't have done anything about it then if I had tried on the pants. And she didn't doublecheck anything before sending otherwise she would have noted the bold writing I had about LINED sleeves and she would have noticed the sloppiness. I sent her pictures of the mess. There is no way you can not notice with a measuring tape the difference between 36 inches and 44-45 inch wide hips.

This is completely unethical.

Re: Has anyone ordered from Naazish Hussain?

Wow, some pretty bad experiences.

I'm way too paranoid about ordering from some online vendor. I'd rather pay DOUBLE the price and go to a trusted STORE that has built up a reputation, than go to these vendors on GS.

I've seen a lot of the copies made by some of these home based designers and honestly the materials and kam look so cheap.

Well its not true.. I've bought alot of dresses from sobia nazir, kama and maria b and the quality they're giving ppl is pathetic. Sobia nazir is selling her lawn print for 3000rs and in 1 wash it comes in its real shape. :S

At first i never use to order online, but not i've good xperiences with a couple of internet designers so its much better if i order them and get the dresses @ half prices instead of giving the designers the real money and getting such bad quality of stuff in return! :)

Re: Has anyone ordered from Naazish Hussain?

Hey Lara,

Did Nazish Hussain resolve the problem?

She said I would be receiving the clutch in July. I resent her a picture of the one I wanted to confirm. I sent her threads of the blue material so she could make lining for me which i will have added on myself locally. She told me to go ahead and see if the alterations lady can fix the pants, which I don't think they will. She said if she can't fix them, she will send me a new pair.

Hi, I dont have facebook can I have her contact information?

Thanks,
