Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

:rotfl: i just saw one of the trailers, again, and i love how in the end harry says “but i am the chosen one :smooth:” and then hermoine smacks him on the head and he goes ok ok i’m sorry. sheepish grin ahahahahaha it’s the best part! probably going to be better than the canary scene

“According to reports, director David Yates has cut a swathe of crucial “memories” that help Harry to fight his arch-nemesis Voldemort to just two, but most disappointing is the ruining of the ending in which a major character meets their demise.”
:frowning:

The trailors look sooooooooo good!!

And if this script is real, why the hell is hermione talking about the vanishing cabinet? I hate it when they change the story like that!!

Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

deathly hallows (the picture can be considered as a spoiler if you havent read the book)

i think it is because of this:

Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

I'm getting so p'd off with the way these directors are changing the friggin movie!! The BOOK earnt millions, that's WHY a movie was made of it. IT was PERFECT as a book. If they can't show exactly what the book is about then I hate anything to do with the movies. Seriously, I'm going on a manhunt for David Yates and his fellow buddies if they've changed crucial points to the movie. And YES I will be taking a copy of the book and followign through with it. Then I will go back to the cinema to watch it with ease and peace.

Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

I so wish BBC makes a TV series of the book coz I hate these katti phitti movies, I mean wat the heck na :naraz: inka bas chalta tau they wud hv only put one of the twins instead both of them hmph

Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Differences from the book

There are a number of changes from the book in the film. Much of the book's ending has been changed, with the climactic battle and Dumbledore's funeral being removed. Heyman commented that the end battle was removed to "[avoid] repetition" with the forthcoming adaptation of Deathly Hallows. The funeral was removed as it was believed it did not fit with the rest of the film. The collapse of a Muggle bridge mentioned briefly in the book serves as the film's opening sequence. Scenes of Diagon Alley being demolished by Death Eaters and an attack on the Burrow by Bellatrix Lestrange and werewolf Fenrir Greyback are added, as can be seen in the trailers. All but two of the memory scenes, including that of the Gaunts, have been cut. Only the flashbacks of Tom Riddle at the orphanage and Riddle asking Slughorn about Horcruxes, shown twice, remain. Yates said they made the decision to compress the memories, but still "got some really cool ones". Characters who are cut include the Dursleys, Kreacher, Dobby, Bill and Fleur, Rufus Scrimgeour, Cornelius Fudge and the Muggle Prime Minister. However, Quidditch, being excluded from the previous film, returns. Bellatrix Lestrange will also participate in the battle of the astronomy tower, whereas she did not in the book, as seen in a picture with the Carrows and Greyback, celebrating Dumbledore's death. In the book, on the Hogwarts Express, after he is petrified and hidden under his Invisibility Cloak by Malfoy, Harry is rescued by Nymphadora Tonks. In the film, Luna Lovegood saves him instead, using her Spectrespecs to find him.

Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?! omg!

"£$£%^$%£%$$&^%$!!! :mad::aj:

right, I need a few people to come down with me and give David Yates a visit…help him sort his head out :asa:

Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

hahaha
they might make some small changes because people who saw the movie in chicago didnt like it

Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

The kameenay! They cut out dobby again!!! What biloody phen de!

They cant cut out kreacher as he is a vital character in the last book.

That David Yates is going to be deballed if I ever see him!

Its all JKR’s fault, she sold the rights without some sort of contract stating that Dobby must be included in every single movie.

Harry would be NOWHERE if it wasnt for Dobby.

Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Okay milz, seriously no1 cares about that little weirdo slave

I should go and punch JK Rowling (imagine if she read this…im sorry JK i didnt mean it! :bummer:)

What next? Let’s cut off Ron and Hermione because of the recession?!

Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

OH NO YOU DIDN’T!

DOBBY IS THE ONLY REASON HARRY IS ALIVE!

You do not deserve to watch or read Harry Potter…I hope they ban you and your boyfriend wearing jeans from ever watching the movies…in all 32 boroughs!

Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

ew hairyu :<

Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

with all the changes they've made I doubt I'll go watch it in the theater......movies are so disappointing compared to the books!
they should make a series and keep everything exactly as the books.....seriously I don't like that they change the whole story around just to keep the time limit. I want to see everything I visualize while reading, come to life.

Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

they can cut the book short for the movie but changing the the whole story is soooo irritating!

Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

I love Dobby. I cried when he died.

BTW I don't think that description above is true. I'm sure I read somewhere that Dumbledore's funeral is definitely included.

The only major change they have made in this film is the destruction of the Millenium Bridge and Trafalgar Square which is not in the books but has been added for dramatic effect.
