The fact is Jats are descendents of Scythians (Sakas). The word Jat itself is derived from (Massa) Gatae, a Scythic people described by ancient Greek and Persian historians. Gujjars are descendents of Khazars and the word Gujjar itself is derived from Khazar. Rajputs are descendents of Hephthalites (White Huns) and others. The fact is these peoples were Central Asian and invaded/migrated in large numbers to Pakistan or northwest Southasia. Of course they slowly got mixed with the locals. Some might label them as castes or sub-castes, but the fact is they are tribal names indicating their background/origins.
