Well
people can work in movies and dramas as far as they areperforming their associated (social and relegious) duties well and they are not posing any bad impact on the viewers.
Islam just ensures that every one is performing his duties well and is not involved in some activities that have negative impact on the community. Watching or acting in a movie has nothing bad with it, if all duties are performed by that person and movie has no negative impact in it, like pornography for instance. But if some one can manage to spend his time in some other creative and social acticities, then those activities must be preffered over watching or acting in a movie.
