Haraam vs. Halaal

Re: Haraam vs. Halaal

Dil say niklay gee duaa, Midwest ja kar rukaay yaa east coast tuk jaa phonchay. Kiyaa keh saktaa hoon MaiN

Btw, on a totally different topic, I am having such an itch to go and post in "Taking the Pill and getting pregnant?" thread in Health and Fashion. I wonder if that itch is Halal or Haraam

Re: Haraam vs. Halaal

makrooh only

Re: Haraam vs. Halaal

And you said in religion, (oh that damn lobster thread), that if makrook is not haraam, its closer to halal, right

Hmm, you did go and post in that thread. Well you carried it out with decency. I would've picked the lady who said that she was on the pills and even then got preganant and said something weird

Re: Haraam vs. Halaal

why open a thread for that PCG:)

let me recollect halaal recommended ways to use it, as I remember them:

  • make sure you hold the teacup with your right hand when drinking
  • say Bismillah before you start drinking
  • Do not breath in the cup
  • Make sure they are not made of gold
  • Say "Alhamdu Lillahil Lazi Ata'amna wa saqana waja A'lna min al muslimeen" after finishing your tea.

Re: Haraam vs. Halaal

moonh bana kar khuja lo.
as far as that thread, u know i thought it was a dare so I went. :D

Re: Haraam vs. Halaal

AQ yaar sources please. bisillah I can understand, dua after finishing i can understand, right hand sure, breathing kinda, but they cant be made of gold, i have not heard that before or i may have forgotten.

I am asking as if 50 muggay, katoray, glass of gold paray hain ghar parr, :) but i just wanted to find out about the sources of this info. Thanks

Re: Haraam vs. Halaal

On the authority of Umm Salmah:razi2:, Muslim reported in his Saheeh the Prophet’s (SAW) saying, "Whoever eats or drinks from gold or silver utensils is indeed filing his stomach with the fire of hell.‘’ (Reported by Muslim.)

Al-Bukhari reported on the authority of** al-Hudhaifah:razi:** that "The Messenger of Allah (SAW) forbade us to drink or eat from gold or silver dishes or to wear silken garments or to sit on silken cloth. He said, 'They are for them (the unbelievers) in this world and for us in the Hereafter.’ (Reported by al-Bukhari.)

"Anyone who melts down gold and silver coins to make vases and containers is ungrateful for Allah’s bounty and is worse than the one who hoards them. It is like using the mayor of a city for sweeping its streets or for sewing garments, or to do jobs which are normally carried out by the lowliest of people. To imprison him would be less insulting. Now, materials such as porcelain, iron, lead, and copper can replace gold and silver for making vases and containers, but they cannot replace them as money or as standards of exchange. If a person cannot grasp this point (through his own reasoning and knowledge), we would tell him that the spokesman of Allah has explained it: 'Whoever eats or drinks from gold or silver utensils is indeed filling his stomach with the fire of hell.’ (lhya al-'Ulum al-Din. Imaam Ghazali: see vol. 4, Thanksgiving and Praise.)

Re: Haraam vs. Halaal

damn, so silverware is bad?

Re: Haraam vs. Halaal

As far as prohibition in hadeeth goes, Yes.

Re: Haraam vs. Halaal

Thanks AQ.

just one minor point, I would say that based on new knowledge that lead is avoided as a container for food

PS: I am a little disturbed about the statement of "lowliest of people" and drawing a disinction between a mayor ad street sweeper. to god only thing that eperates is our deeds or taqwa. so while the eample could have been given to make people understand wasting resources, but it just seems off to me. This is coming from someone who keeps Imam ghazali in very high regard

Re: Haraam vs. Halaal

just checked its stainless steel. warna chamchay kantay phenkna partay

Re: Haraam vs. Halaal

I do not know man... Perhaps, the translation has to do something with it.. then again that's his opinion and ruling...

You asked for the reference, I provided... If you do not agree with Imam Ghazali's reasoning, the command of the Prophet (SAW) should suffice in any case whatsoever.... atleast, for me it does.

Re: Haraam vs. Halaal

I am not questioning the reasoning or command,

but the example

it sends a wrong message in my view. it basically is saying that street sweepers who earn halal qizq by doing what they do are lowliest of low.

as I said maybe he used it so people can understand, but it just does not come across right.

Re: Haraam vs. Halaal

What did I tell you people?

Re: Haraam vs. Halaal

dunno i usually ignore you,
so what did you tell us people? :)

Re: Haraam vs. Halaal

Re: Haraam vs. Halaal

lolz... you just did that...:D

Re: Haraam vs. Halaal

I see your point Fraudz…

On a different note, talking about example, you know Allah:subhanahu: uses some examples in Quran for some types of humans as well… One example is:

7:179] Many are the Jinns and men we have made for Hell: They have hearts wherewith they understand not, eyes wherewith they see not, and ears wherewith they hear not. They are like cattle,- nay more misguided: for they are heedless (of warning).

Re: Haraam vs. Halaal

:omg:

Re: Haraam vs. Halaal

So are you telling me the kabootar in the monkey-kabootar friendship picture is Fraudz?

Where's my pigeon-shooting BB gun?
