indeed islam was given a new lease of life by the courage of the family of hazrat mohammed :saw:] but one can’t neglect the suffering and cruelty which took place so for that reason alone, we should be ‘on the low side’.

Islam forbids any form of mourning whatsoever. In fact, right before Karbala, Hadhrat Hussain (ra) made his sister Zainab (ra) promise him that she would not mourn over him if he died in the battle.

brother i never mentioned saug which some of our bretheren practice during moharram ul haram in majlis {with due respect to them} i think is wrong and uncalled for. although thre r other means in which one can feel down and out after reading into karbala with detail, but to not get carried away with things is a priority.
