Yahan Aus mein we get couple of long weekends..for queen's bday, labour day, family day aisi cheezon ke liye and australia day which is in jan.
How do you celebrate Independence day?

Pakistani Independence day is Aug 14 so that must mean super long weekend thu-sun or just thursday? hmm

By sleeping aur shopping during independence day, market throws up many offers during that time and moslty passing the day by doing nothing, and then I am sarkari babu and we often do nothing :D

I wrote Sarkari Babu. People generally in middle management are called Babus and people who are in top management are called Sahibs :)

oh i see. thanks for the gyaan. all these new words..like yahoodi, hanood and pundas makes me feel like my urdu/hindi vocab is increasing. pundas sounds like pandas lekin that didnt fit the sentence

i made a big mistake regarding hanood...Muqwee is 100% right...hanood is for Hindus. i think i was chewing something when i gave you incorrect meaning. sorry

Pundas, comes from the word pandey, they were the priestly brahmins, secondly Since mangal pandey was the first revolter, british called rebals Pandies and hence punda

lols. But as per modern definition of right winger, Allama Iqbal was himself a right winger. Such lines are present in his poetry.
