don't know about geo but Hamid Mir is definitely not any less patriotic than me or you if not more.
If pak army is killing innocent civilians than he has to say so...and ofcourse this has been checked into...the people who migrated out of bajaur were interviewed when Mir visited their camp, they all said how and/or how many of their children/relatives had been killed! The other week there was a guy from the affected areas who's son's pictures (who lost his legs) were shown! these people are certainly innocent civilians!
How you guys equate the above to 'abusing his powers and/or promoting terrorists agenda' I don't know.
In kashmir last month, when protestors came out during curfew, they were shot at by the indian police and three people were killed and more such incidents followed.
In swat last week, protestors came out during curfew and pakistani police killed seven people.
Terrorists bomb and kill innocent civilians, its wrong. period.
Pak army bombs and kills innocent civilians, its wrong. period.
The marriot bombing was covered by the media extensively so that the carnage could be seen by the public;
same thing needs to happen in FATA, the carnage should be shown so that the public isn't in any doubt over who exactly is being killed
The war in iraq and afghanistan was covered by the electronic media initially, i think the war in FATA should be covered as well
