Basically the Yahoo answer states that it’s permissible to eat meat from the people of the book. Ignorance is bliss… The methods they use (the supposed people of book) have changed so much that it is not even close to the sunnah way of slaughtering. Now I mentioned supposed because majority in west do not really practice the pure faith that was sent down to them.
It’s up to you, you want to be closer to the sunnah or closer to the kuffar? If the latter then go ahead buy your meat from wherever you want.. but if you want to stick to the sunnah, look for HALAL meat.
